We sat at home, cuddling, watching television. I changed the channel to ABC Family. It showed 4 girls reading a note from someone called "A".

"Bebe? That note August left you. What did it say?" I asked Cris.

"Uh... 'this isn't over. -August.'" he said.

"Looks like someone is getting their ideas from a not-so-original source." I replied matter-of-factually.

"It seems so."

"How about I make us breakfast?"

"I got it."

I chuckled. "Gatinho, your leg." I reminded.

"Oh, right." He flashed his perfect white smile.

"Did you see what happened to Neymar's back?"

"Yeah. Poor guy." He said in an in-genuine tone.

"Look, I know your bummed your team didn't make it to the World Cup finals but, Neymar's broken back could ruin his whole futebol career and his passion."

"I know. Sorry."

I got up from the easy chair and turned in the radio to help me cook. Music just helps me work. Talk Dirty by Jason Derulo came on. This is like my theme song. Cristiano sang along. It was cute. I didn't know he was such a decent singer.

"First class seat on my lap girl, ridin' comfortable. I know what the girl dem need New York to Haiti. I got lipstick stamps on my passport, you make it hard to leave." He sang

"You are so cute." I said to him. A little ego raising couldn't hurt.

"Cute? I am a man." He said teasingly.

"You may be a man but you're still a little boy to me." I joked

He laughed. "I love you." He said.

The L word. I didn't know what to say back. Do I say I love him back? What if I don't? I don't even know how exactly I feel.

"Er... Breakfast is ready." I said.

He seemed disappointed. "Oh... I'm not very hungry right now. Sorry."

I said nothing.

He sighed and limped up the stairs to his room.

"Cristiano, wait! I... I... I'll bring you a plate."

"Don't bother."

CRISTIANO'S POV

I thought about Lina's perfection. Her long, dark, glossy, waves. Her blue eyes. Her perfect dark tan. Her hourglass figure. Straight white teeth. Her exotic nose. Then, I thought about what she had said to me. The endless compliments. All of my previous girlfriends had only taken compliments, and never gave them.

Guys like compliments too, we just don't make a huge deal out of it.

I really thought she fell for me. It hurts so much to love someone more than they love you.
