Chapter 14

The surprise party would be something I'd remember for the rest of my life. This was the greatest birthday I had ever had. I could've dealt without thinking everyone forgot about it but it still ended up amazing. Everyone left at about three in the morning, what was great was that we all just had fun. No drama, no fighting, just hanging out by my pool having fun. Even Chelsey and I got along. But that's because she wants to be friends, which I will totally be her friend if she's willing to be mine.

Today my family took me out to breakfast to celebrate my birthday considering I didn't go out with them last night. After breakfast, they are taking me to get my permit, which I'm extremely excited about because I can finally learn how to drive!

"So are you excited for tonight?" Georgie asks me. Tonight was homecoming and I was going with Jeff. Not my ideal date since the night I played FBI agent and overheard the conversation between him and Chace, but still, I have a date to homecoming. Plus the bet is still going on between Chace and I. We haven't done much to get under each others skin recently, but we haven't called it off either.

"I'm really excited! Veronica is doing mine and Candice's hair. We're getting ready at her house." I smile.

"Awe, I wanted to do your hair." Georgie pouts. I raise my eyebrow at her and cock my head.

"You never mentioned it before. Or else I totally would have let you." I tell her.

"It's okay, I'll just do your hair for homecoming next year." She smiles.

"Maybe prom? I am with a junior right now." I explain. Georgie and my parents sit up in their chairs and look at me.

"Chace is a sophomore I thought." My mom says confused.

"Yeah he is. But he's with Chelsey. I'm with Jeff Goods. He's a junior. He's the tall, tan, muscular and brown hair that looks sort of like a grown out buzz cut." I explain to my mom.

"You've basically described all the guys in your group." My dad laughs. I pull out my phone and go on instagram and show them a picture of Jeff.

"Oh him! I didn't know you two were dating." My mom says.

"Well we aren't like boyfriend girlfriend or anything. We're just going to homecoming together, and we've kissed a couple times. Nothing major." I tell them.

"Well he's very handsome." My mom smiles. I smile back at her and continue eating my breakfast.

They continued asking me questions about Jeff and what time he was going to drop me off. I explained to them that I was going to spend the night at Veronica's after homecoming. They got a little spiffed because this was apparently the first they've heard of me spending the night over there. Then they started telling me that I needed to text them when I arrived at homecoming and then when I got back to Veronica's.

I agreed to their terms and then we went to the DMV so I could get my permit. After taking the tests that require me to get my permit, I took my picture and received my permit. I got to drive home, it was super exciting. Once we got home it was about four. I changed into a button down, that way I wouldn't mess up my hair once it was finished, some shorts, my make up bag, and grabbed my homecoming dress. I also grabbed my heels and then got together some stuff to wear after homecoming tonight. I texted Veronica telling her that I was on my way over. She replied back saying she couldn't wait. I drove over there and got out of the car, waving good bye to my parents.

It was four forty five by the time I arrived at her house. I walked up to the door and knocked. A few seconds later, a topless Luke answered the door. He looked really good shirtless, no wonder Georgie dated him for so long.
