Chapter Three (Gavin's POV)

I don't understand.

I'm rich, I'm devilishly handsome, and I'm not entirely strange. I could be cocky at times, but with good reason. In fact, I just listed those reasons. So why, no matter how many times I repeated it, did Kasper refuse me? He had to feel it.

The fluttering sensation. The warmth. The life. All of it and so much more is how I felt whenever I even thought of Kasper.

He was beautiful. He reminded me of an imp sometimes the way he listened and watched so carefully, then pretended he didn't know or lied to save face. His eyes reminded me of deep pools of water, flecks of silver and gold around his pupils. His hair as black as a raven's feather and probably just as soft too. Oh Goddess, and don't get me started on that skin... It looked so smooth and soft, like velvet. I wanted to run my hands along his arms, up his back, his ass, everything.

I kept this to myself, away from my clan and away from Thorn and Naoki. I only gave them the blunt truth.

Kasper was my mate.

I was positive about this. Just not being near him made me ache with depression and I just wanted to curl up in the darkness of my room and never emerge again. There was no other way around it, and no matter how much Kasper denied it, he will be my mate.

I would make sure of that.

"I'm offering to look past the debt you owe my father's company as well as putting down money to pay off your other debts. Just give me Kasper in return." I repeated again, my voice echoing off the walls of the den. Repeating it made Naoki stiffen, his piercing green eyes sharpen like daggers as he gripped his tea cup tightly enough to crack it down the side.

Thorn placed a hand comfortingly on his shoulder before looking at me pointedly. I raised an eyebrow challengingly and he grimaced.

"Prince Gavin, I really don't think you understand the severity of your claims as well as your offer," He began carefully, as if he were walking onto a minefield, "Kasper is more than just a servant here in our household; he's our son. We took him in after... after a terrible incident and he's still not recovered. He's extremely fragile."

"I don't want to hear it from you," I answered curtly, folding one leg over the other, "I want to hear about Kasper from Kasper. All I need from you is your blessing. Of course, either way I'll get it because I always get what I want, Thorn Lithium. My clan is the most powerful vampire clan and business corporation in the United States of America." Thorn winced as if I'd struck him and looked at Naoki, who fumed.

He always had a short fuse, which at one time greatly amused me. Now it only irritated me.

"There you go again! You are threatening us! We declined your offer, thank you very much, now please just leave!" He protested angrily, smacking his tea cup down on the glass coffee table. Thorn sighed and shook his head, stroking Naoki's shoulder and murmuring something under his breath to calm him down. I sighed, realizing I was going about this the wrong way and switched tactics as I leaned forward, my elbows on my knees, hands clasped together.

"I am not lying when I say that I love Kasper. I have no reason to harm him at all. If he lives with me, he will not be a servant, but a prince and soon a king at my side. He will have everything he could ever want. A luxerious room, technology, food, money, and most of all, love and protection. I can feel it. Kasper is my mate. I'm willing to put my life on the line to keep him happy." I added, watching Naoki's expression fall in realization.

Thorn didn't look at me, stared at the carpet for the longest time instead before squeezing his eyes shut, his hands clenched tightly.

"When would he have to leave?" He asked at last, sounding distressed. I smiled warmly.
