I thought what we said was genuine.
What we did was real,
What we had was love.
I thought you was the one.
_____
I still hear your laughter,
In the middle of the night.
I still feel your fingertips,
Running along my arms,
And through my hair.
_____
Even though you're gone,
your eyes are still piercing through my soul.
You left a permanent, burning mark.
Causing my heart to ache for you,
More than before.
_____
Why did you have to leave me?
Why did our love have to die?
If I could, I would save us.
But we're broken beyond repair now.
_____
I thought what we said was genuine,
What we did was real,
What we had was love.
I thought you was the one.
But I was wrong.
