Stars and Sorrows

People try to compare sorrows.

There is no point.

The heart bleeds,

It hurts,

No matter how much blood.

I wish I could erase

All the pains.

No matter how large,

No matter how small.

Maybe if I held you tight enough,

I could squeeze the wound shut.

We all wear our armor,

To Defend us from each other.

We all carry knives,

To slay the beast in our hearts.

We swallow the pill of friendship,

To laugh and forget.

We want not the pain we have.

I know behind smiles lie demons,

Behind laughter hides tears,

And behind bravery, loneliness festers.

I can hold the torch,

But I can't stop the night from falling.

But I hope I can teach you to love the stars.

Teach you that the pain makes us kind.

The suffering makes us patient.

The loneliness, makes us reach out,

No matter how we are shunned.

We cry out,

With broken voices,

No matter how the world tries to silence us.

I wish,

You would know,

We are like stars, we burn bright.

We keep shining,

We light the sky,

We shine for those like us.

Who are demons,

Who are lonely,

We have not yet become supernovas.

We burn still.

We will bleed,

But we will heal.

I wish you knew,

Because you shine through the blood too.
