I felt someone cuddle closer to my body. But then I remembered that someone was Chase, and what had happened last night. Just Chase, love, no regrets, and I. My eyes opened to find Chase clinging onto me as if his life depended on it. I stroked his creamy, chocolate hair. On his neck, I saw a love bite.

I blushed, hopefully his mom wouldn't be too mad.

Chase smiled and murmured my name in his sleep. He was dreaming of me, that's so sweet. My heart beat picked up and I couldn't help but feel as if I were flying. Nobody have ever made me feel this way. So in love, and I'm glad it was Chase making me feel this way. All tingly inside, I smiled.

He opened his eyes and smiled. I put my face close to his, so close the tips of our noses touching. He gave me a tiny peck on the cheek.

"Last night. . .wow," he smiled, full with happiness. "I never done that before, Eric. It was amazing, and, I guess I should say that you made me feel, so, so alive."

I smiled and played with a small birthmark on his neck, "Ha, why thank you. I never did that either. It felt like the whole world stopped. Just for us."

"Wow, I thought I was the only one who felt like that," Chase confessed.

"No," I traced his jaw line. "I felt it too. Because, I never felt like this with anybody, but you. Never have I been attracted to someone, like a force pulling me. And that first night, when we met in the rain, I really fell hard for you."

He nodded, "Me too. I had the weirdest feeling to kiss you, but I didn't want to scare you away or something."

"You wanted to kiss me?" I replied.

He nodded, "Well. . .I wanted to. For a while. Like, a long while. James was the only one who knew. Because, how we we--are best friends."

"I think it's really sweet you too made up, James is another really nice guy. Like a certain little somebody," I poked his stomach.

"So, should we start to make our way down to the kitchen? Maybe make some cereal or something?" he asked.

"Make cereral?" I made a noise between a laugh and a snort.

"Well. . .you could cook. I don't do good with ovens," he nodded. "And make sure you wash up. And remember to put some clothes on, 'kay?"

I sighed, "Fine. As you wish."

"Look, I'll show you my favorite part of the woods," I smiled. "It's in the deeper part, so don't freak out."

"I laugh in the face of danger. Ha, ha, ha!" Chase yelled, his voice echoed into the forrest. Which probably scarred away every living thing in sight.

"Yeah, sure thing. You're the toughest cookie I know," I chuckled. We interlocked arms and I led him to the spot I was talking about. It would be nice for just the two of us to bond. Without so much kissing or anything. Which was nice, but not an all the time thing.

The leaves we're whistling in the silent breeze, and everything seemed to be in perfect harmony. It was as if the world stopped. And it was absolutely perfect. I stopped by a huge oak tree that was in front of a huge, flat, stone. I used to pretend I was king of the forrest when I was a kid.

"This is the spot," I nodded. He handed me the blanket. "You like it, Mr. Jared?"

He looked around more, "It's so gorgeous. Eric, this is amazing."

I smiled proudly, "Told you that it's great. And there's a creek not too far away, we can go for a swim later. If you like."

"Tempting. Very tempting, but I'm not a fan of swimming," he began to stutter. "Ever s-since, that one night, w-when you saved me."

I saw tears start to form behind his cute, nerdy glasses. I remembered that night, I hoped to forget it, but it was also the night when I kissed Chase for the first time. And we almost went to 'home-base' and died. That was the night when Chase tried to kill himself.

I wrapped my arms around his neck, "Don't worry. You have me now, we have each other. Everything will be perfect, like in the books. We'll live happily ever after. I'll never let anything bad happen to you ever again."

A tear went down his cheek, and I kissed it away, "Listen to me, Chase Jared. I will love you forever, okay. No questions asked. I'll do whatever makes you happy, if one day, you don't love me, then I'll try to win you back. Because you mean the whole world to me. And if it doesn't work, I'll still love you."

"Eric, even though I'm not very good with expressing my feelings", he looked into my eyes. "I want you to know that I'll always love you. I know we're young, we're not even seniors, but I want to spend my whole life with you."

My eyes began to water too, "I do too. I love you."

We ended up carving our names into the oak tree, telling each other things we never said before, and going for a swim in our underwear. I saw Chase reach for his glasses, but I grabbed them before he did.

"Hey, what's the big idea? I can't see," he complained.

"Let me," I replied.

I gently put his glasses on his perfect face. Like I had done many times before. What a perfect way to end our trip into the woods. But I realized it didn't end our trip, but the first story of Chase and I. And I liked it.

End.
