I woke up to find that Marcus wasn’t even in the room anymore. His attitude was annoying me. I shouldn’t even be stressing over this. Didn’t I decide that I couldn’t trust boys anymore? Why do I feel so annoyed that he doesn’t trust me?

I shook my head to clear my thoughts and walked to the bathroom. A nice shower might help to put me in a better mood. After showering and brushing my teeth, I quickly changed and hurried downstairs for breakfast.

I saw Hayley sitting next to Cory and I smiled. I sank into the chair next to Lia and she smiled at me. “How’s it going today with Marcus?” She whispered in my ear. “He left this morning without waking me up so it’s not good.” I whispered back and she smiled sympathetically. “I was wondering why he came down alone this morning.” She muttered before picking up a piece of toast and biting it. I turned to my breakfast too but I wasn’t really hungry.

I went with Hayley and Lia to the meeting room and waited for Isaac to come in. “Are you okay Ness?” Hayley asked me. She obviously felt the tension at the breakfast table even though Marcus and I were at different ends of the table. “I’ll live,” I shrugged “How long have you liked Cory for?” I asked grinning.

“H-how did you k-know?” She stuttered looking shocked so me and Lia laughed. “It’s pretty obvious from the way you were beaming at whatever he was saying.” I told her laughing. “Well since tomorrow is Saturday, he suggested that a few of us could go to the theme park near here.” She told us. “Are you sure he said a few of us?” Lia asked narrowing her eyes. “He said ‘we’” She replied quietly. “He meant just the two of you babe.” I told her putting a hand on her shoulder. “I can’t go alone. What if I look stupid in front of him?” She asked. “You’ll be fine.” Lia assured her.

“You guys have to come. You can tell me if I’m doing anything wrong. You have to help me.” She begged us. We rolled our eyes. “Alright I’ll do it but it’s only because I wanna go on some rides and get some snacks.” I said to Hayley. “Are corndogs good? I really want to try them. Do you think they’ll sell them there?” I asked Lia and she shrugged. Before she could open her mouth to reply, Isaac walked in with the rest of the group trailing behind.

“Today is the last session of the week and after much deliberation, I have decided to give you an early start to the weekend. You can have a free day.” He told us with a small smile as we all cheered. I walked back up to our room because I was so tired. I just wanted to sleep after the disappointment. As soon as I flopped down onto the bed, I was out like a light.

*Marcus’ P.O.V*

“Do you want to go to the games room?” Cory asked me as everyone started to file out of the room. “Is there anything good in there?” I asked in reply. “They got Kinect in there.” Alex, his roommate, eagerly supplied. “Well I’ll meet you guys down there; I’m going to get my phone from my room.” I told them before heading up the stairs.

I walked in and saw Vanessa asleep on her bed. She looked so peaceful with her curly locks all over the place and her lips ever so slightly parted. It was weird; I couldn’t help but feel drawn to her but she has no interest in me or men for that matter. It was probably because of that guy Stefan. Just the thought of him made my blood boil. That day when her brother carried her into our room crying made my heart break. She looked so broken and scared. Then she completely shut me out and refused to tell me what he did.

I reached out to move some hair out of her face but stopped myself just in time. She didn’t want me and I need to get over her. I walked over to the other side of the room and picked up my phone. I walked out of the room without looking back.

“Dude, how long does it take for you to get a phone?” Cory asked as I walked into the games room. He and Alex were playing a snowboarding game. “I couldn’t find it but it was in my pillowcase.” I lied. “Why did you put it there?” Alex enquired. “I have no clue.” I replied. “So are you coming to the theme park with us tomorrow?” Cory asked. “I thought it was a date?” I replied arching a brow.

“It was supposed to be but Hayley wants a few people to come.” He told me sighing. “Don’t worry, it’s a big theme park, I’m sure you can lose everyone once you’re there.” I reassured him. “Yeah you’re right. So are you coming?” He asked. “Yeah and I’m gonna bring this girl I met yesterday. She was so hot.” I replied thinking of Melissa. Cory was looking at me with a puzzled face. “What’s up with your face man?” I asked him and he shook his head. I arched an eyebrow but didn’t push it any further.

We went out to eat and on the way back we went past the flower shop. I went inside and saw Melissa looking extremely bored behind the counter. “Marcus; I didn’t expect you to be back so soon.” She remarked with a seductive look and I grinned. “Are you free tomorrow?” I asked her and she nodded. “Would you like to go a theme park with me and a couple of friends?” I asked. “Sure but as long as we can be alone at least once tomorrow.” She said leaning over close to me. “I can make that happen. I’ll see you tomorrow. I’ll text you where to meet us later on tonight.” I told her before winking and walking out.

I walked straight into Vanessa and she fell onto the floor. I stuck out my hand to help her but she stubbornly refused my help and got up by herself. “Watch where you’re going idiot.” She hissed and turned to walk towards the hotel. I hurried after her and soon fell into step with her. “Why are you so annoyed?” I enquired. I was genuinely confused. “Why do you care?” She demanded. I honestly don’t know but I’m not gonna tell you that. “I don’t.” I replied. “Then stop asking me so many questions!” She exclaimed stomping off into the hotel.

I assumed she would go to our room but when I got there, she was nowhere to be found. I guess she went to Lia and Hayley’s room to avoid me then. I flopped down onto my bed and realised that I was actually pretty tired. I guess I’ll talk to her later. I closed my eyes and slowly drifted off.
