Recap:

“I apologize. I didn’t mean to harm you.” He said dropping my hand gently to my side.

He waiting for me to say something, when I didn’t he sighed and walked to the door.

“Go to sleep Ana. We can talk in the morning.” He grunted and left me standing alone confused and angry in my room.

Chapter 5

I woke up with a startle as the loud rock and roll music started to detonate beside my head. I grouchily turned to find my alarm twinkling different colors in attempts of trying to waking me up. I willed it to stop by staring at it but unfortunately that didn’t work. Each second that passed made the noise louder and louder until I finally gave up by reaching over and turning it off. I was giving myself a pep talk to get out of bed when I realized I didn’t have anywhere in the world that I particularly had to be this morning. It was seven thirty, so it was still early. If I was at school I would be waking up at this time in preparation for my nine am class but as luck would have it I didn’t have school today.

Blissfully I dragged the sheet up closer to my face and cuddled in deeper into the bed. Forgetting to set the alarm clock once again for a later time.

When I awoke again the sun was blinding me even through the dark curtains. Sighing with frustration I pushed the sheets off and tenderly got out of bed. I gave a quick glance at the clock and stopped moving. One P.M! Oh my gosh! I slept into the afternoon!

I ran to my closet grabbed the necessary pieces of clothing and dashed into the shower. I took my time doing my hair and make-up this morning as I didn’t get a chance to yesterday.

In my white shorts and a button down jean colored shirt, I cautiously headed down the stairs. The reasonable part of me knew that Seb was probably off at work, but the irrational part feared that he was pacing the landing downstairs waiting impatiently to sink his claws into me.

Surprisingly the house was silent when I reached the bottom, I ran my eyes through the area trying to spot any form of life. When I didn’t see anyone I decided to head to the kitchen, hoping Carrie was making food to sooth my grumbling tummy.

The kitchen was just as deserted as the rest of the house. I noticed a tray on the kitchen counter and decided to take a peek in it. Hoping it was some sort of edible provision. When I got closer I saw the little note attached to the tray.

Dear Ana,

I am so sorry to leave you but James needed me to come and look after the little ones for a few days. His mother-in-law just had surgery so they both went to go stay with her until she recovers. But they didn’t want to have the kids to get in the way of her recovery, so they asked me to look after them. I was going to tell you this morning but you seemed so peaceful in sleep and I hated the thought of waking you up.

I am so sorry my dear, especially to leave you alone with that boy. But you are strong I’m sure you can handle him by yourself. I will be back before you know it.
