Taylor's POV

"BROOKLYN FAITH!" I screamed.

"Its over now." Drew said and he disappeared from the scene.

"Don't do this to me Brooklyn. I know you're there. You cant leave me." I whispered.

The tears started to rush down my face.

"You're stronger than this." I said.

The sound of the ambulance sirens were getting closer.

"I love you. Brooklyn Faith Lancaster I love you." I repeated.

Suddenly the EMT's rushed in and took her pulse and immediately put her in a stretcher.

I explained my relationship to her and we drove off to the hospital.

This was the scariest experience of my life.

Brook laid in the stretcher, not moving, with an oxygen mask on and a bandage to cover the gush in her head from her fall.

Her heart beat was low.

Barely there.

Suddenly i heard the noise i never wanted to hear.

The flat line.

The paramedics rushed with the defibrillator.

"CLEAR!" They yelled.

They shocked her with the pads.

Her body gave a quick flinch.

Her heart started at a steady pace.

We stopped and they rushed out of the ambulance and into the ER.

•••

I was in the hospital waiting room waiting for Shawn and Jay to arrive.

I felt a immediate feeling of deja vu.

I remembered my näive self.

18 and reckless. Taking everything for granted.

I didn't want another episode of that to replay again. I need her.

Shes my rock.

I need her with me.

Shes my life, my heart, she keeps me alive.

I was crying a river at this point.

Hours passed, Brook's parents were getting the first flight they could here and Shawn and Jayden were already here.

They both tried comforting me, although they were scared to death too.

The only person who could comfort me right now was Brook.

I just want to hold her in my arms.

What if I never see her again?

What if this is it?

"Lancaster, Brooklyn?" a doctor finally said, interrupting my thoughts.

Jayden, Shawn and I stood up, we were all probably paler than ever. We waited silently for the doctor to speak.

He had a name tag that read 'Dr. Gray'.

"Well, Brooklyn was very lucky, the bullet barely left a scratch on the top of her shoulder, thanks to that man who tackled her to the floor. However, when she was saved my the bullet, she banged her head on the floor. Her skull did indeed crack. Incredibly, nothing was severely effected and we think Brook could go back to living a normal life..." Dr. Gray said trailing off.
