"I shall now name you Owlpaw, from the power in DreamClan," Said a proud leader.
I instantly ran up to him. "We'll be sharing a den now!!"
He bowed his head and we brushed cheeks. Ever since we were kits me and Owlpaw were the best friends. Now we could share a den!
All of the sudden I heard a snicker behind me. "I don't think you want to share a den with HIM," An annoyed Webpaw growled. "I sure know I don't."
"Webpaw!" I scorned. "He's my friend, too." I gave Owlpaw the best, 'I'm so sorry' look I could, but he still looked unhappy.
I suddenly got a kick from behind. "Let's go, Scarpaw. You don't want to stay HERE, do you?" Asked Webpaw.
I glanced over at Owlpaw, who had his head between his paws in defeat. "Go ahead, Scarpaw. It's okay."
"Um.. Ok, Webpaw," I said as he gently licked my nose.
If you haven't already guessed it, I'll tell you. Webpaw and I are mates.
"How about a run through the forest?" I asked Webpaw energetically.
"Sure! Hunting?"
"You guessed it," I meowed as I went running through the camp entrance.
I heard a screech and he was at my side again. I glanced over to him, seeing his face.
I didn't like what I saw.
Anger.
Pure anger.
And scorn.
Webpaw rushed ahead of me, as I lost my balance and went headfirst into a thorn bush.
"Rawweerrr!!" I meowed, startled.
"Scarpaw??" I heard a scared mew from a nearby tree. "Scarpaw, where are you?"
"I-in here!" I called, finally hearing who this mysterious mew was from. "Owlpaw, I'm in this thorn bush! I lost my footing and-" I lost my breath as I came tumbling out of the bush. "Owlpaw! Wha-?"
I looked up and saw Owlpaw above me, whiskers twitching. "Calm down, Scarpaw. You look like you have just seen every member of DreamClan!"
As I leaned against Owlpaw on the way back to camp, treading lightly and limply farther, I thought back to the anger of my mate. Hadn't he noticed my fall? And if he had, why didn't he help?
There were some myserties in need of unfolding for Webpaw.
