Swapped

Chapter 6

"How about if we put it under a light?", Jesy asks out loud, voicing her opinion as she lays on Jade's bed while the other girl is focused on the bottle.  Jade turns the bottle and narrows her eyes at it as she continues to observe it.  It was the next day and all four girls were hanging out (well, Perrie and Leigh downstairs, Jade and Jesy using this time together to figure out the mystery of the bottle and it's previous contents).

"I don't think that's going to do anything.", she says, still not taking her eyes off the bottle as she picks up a magnify glass to get a closer look.

"Have you found anything else yet?", Jesy mumbles as she rolls over on Jade's bed so she can watch her focus on the bottle.

"NO!", Jade shouts in frustration, throwing the bottle down onto the desk.  "There's nothing I can find besides what we already know."

"Zayn and Liam find anything yet?"

"Nope.  They said that they've tried researching practically everywhere online, but nothing's come up."

"Dang, this is some witchcraft shit or something.", Jesy conludes, and Jade snorts at Jesy's comment.

"Yeah, no kidding.  I wouldn't be surprised if it was."

Before Jesy and Jade can continue with the conversation, there's a slight knock on the door.  "Door's open.", Jade shouts, and the door creaks open to reveal Leigh-Anne.  "Hey Leigh!"

"Oh, hey Jes.", she replies back to Jade, but it's already been long enough, so Jade's gotten used to being called Jesy.  "Sorry to interrupt you guys...but I was wondering if I could talk to Jade?", she asks, more towards Jesy.

"Uhm, yeah, sure.", Jesy says, and she and Jade continue to sit where they are, looking at Leigh expectantly. 

Leigh clears her throat.  "Uh...in private."

"Ohhhhhhh!", the other two say in unison, and Jade stands to walk out the door, but before she leaves she manages to send Jesy a subtle thumbs up for good luck.

"So, what's up?", Jesy asks as Leigh joins her on the bed.

"Well...I just wanted to ask you about something."

"Alright, go for it."

Leigh starts to fiddle with her fingers, Jesy knowing she did that whenever she was nervous.  "Jade...you've been different lately."

"I have?", Jesy asks, acting as if she had no idea.

"Well, yeah.  It's almost as if...you and Jesy switched personalities."

"Wha-"

"I know, I know, it's pretty weird and impossible, huh?", Leigh says, cutting Jesy off.  'It's not impossible', Jesy thinks to herself.  "But I swear, it's like you're Jesy in Jade's body."  If only she knew how close she was with that statement.  "And I kinda like it."

Jesy's eyes widen at the last sentence, and she quickly realizes what's going on.  "Uhhh...what?", she asks nervously, scooting away from Leigh, only to have to other girl scoot over to follow her.

"I've always thought you were attractive Jade, but you're too quiet and shy for me, even though you're a great party buddy.  But, with this new outgoing personality that you have all the time...I don't know...it's, really attractive.", Leigh explains while leaning closer and closer to Jesy.

"Uh, Leigh, you have a boyfriend."

"He doesn't have to know."

"Uh, Leigh, are you okay?", Jesy asks, now standing up off the bed to get away from Leigh.  Leigh-Anne quickly stands to follow her.
