Sol y Luna

Beauty steps away from serenity.
Scattered rays of gold fragment
kiss the landscape,
as sun like her lover clings to earth.

An almost tranquil parting of ways.
Land painted glowing pastel,
In a watercolour scene.
As Sol concedes to his lady Luna,
the reluctance of any fond farewell.

Yet the sky begins to smoulder.

Watch amber and crimson cascade,
scorch the Spanish horizon,
render every other sunset latent.
A frenzied, feverish romance,
this tragedy, this star-crossed separation.

With a final blaze of passion
the mountains darken,
colour leaches from the valley,
and gold turns to rusted bronze,
lit by Luna's cold, lamenting glow.
