Okay, so I've been trying some spoken-word poetry, which is what this is. It sounds cooler if you read it out loud. Please vote and comment, I love to get feeedback. :) You people are amazing, and any work that you do feel free to share with me cause I'll read everything. :D <33

Life is a spelling mistake.

The way

you play

means everything,

you can’t turn back the clock.

When the pressure’s up,

you’re all down low.

So be yourself,

and take it slow.

No backspace to this game.

No erasers for big mistakes.

You can’t just crumple up the paper

and toss it away.

We scribble in 100% sharpie ink.

Our fingers are stained.

The jagged scars don’t fade away,

and twenty-four hour cover up only lasts

for twenty-four hours.

Are you gonna point out my wrinkles?

You say “no offense” but I see your nose there,

Stuck up in the air,

Ain’t never coming down.

Try and take it back?

Ya, never again!

A Band-Aid won’t fix who I am!

When the frozen rain

streams down your face,

When you’re alone in that dark zone,

not caring.

Nobody knows you

won’t fully recover from

who you are

what you’ve done.

Wanting to look back’s for losers.

Guess I’m a loser.

I just wanna go home

smack father time,

take back what’s mine,

but I can’t.

So I’ll gaze into

that crystal mirror

for one more moment.

I see a girl

a broken face,

a beautiful flower who has gone to waste.

I see the etiquette of using a spoon with my salad,

a fork with my soup.

I see a 2D world,

screwed up and ruined,

clinging to whatever blade of grass still lasts,

after your fiery words of fury pierced its soul.

Then I’ll shatter the mirror,

forget what I saw.

No regrets,

no moonwalks to the past.

Here I am,

here and now.

This is my shout-out,

to all of you

who live with

who you are

what you’ve done.

To all of you-

hey yes, you too!

The kids with the rain clouds falling behind them,

the kids with the thunder and lightning at their backs.

Hey you.

Turn around.

There’s a rainbow in your future.

Let the colors wrap you up in love,

accept who you’ve become,

watch the fluttering sunshine bloom,

tumbling about the rain.

Just a few more feet,

see yeah, that’s it.

After you get squelched in another pit of mud,

get back up,

finish the race,

inspiring things are going to come,

to you because I always heard

that the good in you will triumph the bad.

The evil queen in you won’t go away,

this isn’t a story,

we have a little bit of both.

It’s like you’re Snow White,

but you secretly killed a dwarf.

Oops…

You can hide it, but we aren’t all perfect.

So keep singing your song,

and carry on.

Put a smile on that face.

Make a new word,

from that spelling mistake.
