Chapter 14: Keeping A Promise

Peytan's POV

I couldn't believe that I was going to Leigh's house and I didn't have to worry about being beat or raped or anything for a whole night. As I kept thinking about it a smile kepted growing on my face. Leigh looked at me and chuckled.

"What?" I asked as he turned back to face the road.

"Nothing. You just look so happy right now." His smile was just as big as mine.

"I am. I don't to have worry about anything for one night. It feels like a giant step forward in my life." Leigh grabbed my hand and squeezed. He smiled at me and his eyes sparkled with joy. Joy for me.

"There will be many more steps Peytan. Many more steps with me by your side." He was staring into my eyes as he kissed my hand.

We pulled into his driveway and he parked the car behind a line of others. I stared up at his house. It was huge, it could've been a mansion. As I was staring wide eyed and open mouthed at the house that sat before me, Leigh began to laugh.

"What's so funny?" I couldn't help but laugh with him.

"Your expression. I've seen some surprised looks before, but yours takes the cake." He continued to laugh and I laughed with him. Leigh got out of the car and I followed suit. He waited for me to come around and grabbed my hand. We walked up to the front porched and I was, once again, hiding behind his arm like a scared puppy.

What if nobody likes me? I didn't want to think about that. Leigh squeezed tight on my hand and gave me a reassuring smile.

"Why is it so big?" I couldn't help but ask.

"It's the pack house. Almost all the pack lives here."

"Is that alot of people?"

"25 to 30 give or take a few." he said guessing.

"Wow" I didn't know what else to say besides that.

"Ya it's alot, but they're all like family." He had a smile on his face. He truely loved all of those people that I was about to meet.

"You'll be just fine."

"What if they don't like me?"

"I don't see why anyone would not love you." I smiled at him and squeezed his hand.

He opened the door and walked in, I followed. When we first walked in I didn't see anybody and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Most people are in their rooms already." I nodded and we continued into the house.

The front hallway was so elegant with a giant arch inviting you into the living room. The living room was filled with couches and chairs with a giant flat screen hanging on the wall. The walls were baby blue and the carpet was white. Another arch on the right wall granted entrance to the dinning room. The table sat atleast 25 people. There was a giant window behind the head of the table that gave view to the backyard. I f you continued on you would find yourself in the kitchen. The kitchen had an island in the middle surounded by appliances and more counters. then you found yourself back at the begining with stairs to your right that lead up stairs. The walls lined with pictures of families that live in the pack house. All this and more Leigh explained to me as he showed me around. Then he took me upstairs to his bedroom.
