'I missed you so much, baby girl!' Dana exclaimed, her mouth cracking into a smile. I smiled back, relief flooding through me.
'Me too! I am so sorry!' I replied, enveloping her in a great big bear hug.
'No, no. I'm sorry! I should have opened up to you about Gabe when I first began feeling like... this. You're my best friend and, we don't keep.secrets.' Dana insisted, squeezing me tightly. I winked at her, indicating we were good again.
'So we're good again?' she said, not cottoning on to my wink.
'Course we are, you idiot!' I said, punching her lightly on her bicep.
We turned around and headed for the bandstand.
