Leave Me Alone!

Joey ran down the stairs, tears streaming down her eyes. I followed her.

“Joey! Listen to me; it’s not what you think.” – I said

She stopped and turned towards me and said,

“Then what is it, Aaron? Because it seemed to me like you just slept with another girl.” – She said crying

“I…” – I didn’t know what to say

“I thought you were different, I thought you understood. But you men are all the same, to you guys someone’s feeling don’t matter. All you guys ever want is sex.” – She said, her tears weren’t stopping

And she turned and ran down the stairs. I ran to my apartment and got dressed.

“Aaron.” – Anne said

“Stay, we have to talk.” – I turned towards the door and rushed out

Joey had already left. I got into my car and drove towards her home.

I reached her home, opened the door and entered. I could hear her crying in the bedroom.

I entered the room and saw her crying, her face dug into the pillow.

“Joey.” – I said

“Leave.” – She said

“Joe...” – I tried again but she cut off my sentence

“Just leave.”

“Please Joey, let me explain.” – I said

She got up from the bed. Her eyes were all red because of crying.

“CAN’T YOU HEAR ME, LEAVE ME ALONE.” – She shouted

“Just listen to me, Joey.” – I tried again

She walked towards me, grabbed my hand and dragged me towards the lounge and then out of the apartment. And then went inside and closed the door.

I banged my fist on the door and said,

“Joey! Please give me a chance to explain.”

But honestly I didn’t know what to say, what to explain? Even I didn’t know what had happened last night. Did I really cheat on her? But we were just talking, then how had it happened? And suddenly the answer hit me. Anne had brought booze and lots of it. And drinking had always been my weakness. I sat there outside Joey’s apartment and waited.

Anne texted me that she had to go to a meeting. She will talk to me later. I remained outside her apartment, sitting, waiting for her to come out.

She came out, to start her shift at flower mart.

“Why are you still here?” – She asked me after she saw me

“Please give me another chance, Joey.” – I said

“Didn’t I make myself clear? Leave Me Alone.” – She said, locked the door and left

I just stood there, not enough strength to even run after her. After all, there was no reason. After what I had done, this was expected.

What have I done? I had this amazing girl and now she has left me…
