For hours I stared at her, she was sleeping and she looked peaceful. My passions were storming inside but I tried so hard to keep them in and succeeded. Finally after 3 hours she woke up and looked up at me, I was still staring at her.

“You are staring” - She said

I smiled and replied,

“I am gazing.”

And finally the wall broke, the heat of passion took over and the next moment we both were kissing. The kiss wasn’t like any I had ever experienced; it was intense, filled with feelings. It was like you were drowning and that kiss saved you, the moment of passion didn't stop. And finally we broke the kiss and started breathing heavily, she was smiling and so was I. It had happened so suddenly that we both still doubted that it had happened but it really had, she smiled and bit her lip and damn! She looked sexy. At that time I wanted to again embrace her in my arms and start that moment again but I wanted to know her feelings too. So I finally asked,

“What just happened?”

“I don’t know, but whatever it was, it was good.” - She replied while smiling

“I also don't know what happened but the thing I do know that this kiss was not like any I had ever experienced.” - I said

“Me too.” - She said

But my luck was just bad, because at that time my pager started beeping. I was needed in the hospital.

“Damn! I am needed in the hospital. I will come back. I promise.” - I said while grabbing my jacket and phone

“Take the key. I will be waiting for you.” - She said handing me the key

I nodded and left, while waiting for a taxi I thought about the things that had happened. In a moment I had thrown back everything I had been standing for the past years, just for a girl? But she was not an average girl, but I had also said that about her and look where it took me? No I must control, this is bad. But something that feels so good can't be bad, right?

Just then a taxi approached and I told him to go to the hospital. I reached the hospital; I spotted Dr. Lambert and walked towards her.

“I was paged, Dr. Lambert.” - I said

“Yes, Aaron. A patient is asking for you.” - She replied

“A patient? Asking for me?” - I asked

“Yes Dr. Kent, for you. Was I unclear?” - She said in a high commanding voice

“No ma'am.” - I replied

“Then go to room 2035, he has been asking for you again and again and if he asks again I am gonna forget all my oaths and seriously kill him.” - She replied

I turned and walked smiling, Dr. Holly could be a little tough at times but she was the only person I trusted more than myself in this lonely world. She was my mentor, my big sister and my only family. Finally I reached room 2035, and entered.

“Finally, you are here. I thought my bones will start decomposing when you will reach here.” - A familiar voice hit me

I was shocked to see my old buddy Hank lying on the bed looking pale and weak. I was shocked to see him in that state.

“Well I thought of adopting my old friend's habit.” - I replied smiling

Hank was always late, whenever we went somewhere. I picked up his chart and read it. He had stage 4 metastatic melanoma and he had weeks, maybe a month to live. I looked up at him, he was already seeing me.
