"Mummy where you going?" Tyler whines as I drop him off at his grandparents place.

"Oh you'll live." I say with a short laugh.

I had taken them to my late wife's parents. Their grandmother, my mother in law look at me with a small smile.

"So a date heh?" I nod my head nervously.

"She always said not to be sad for too long. To move on." She says to me knowingly. I sigh and nod. I know she's telling the truth but that doesn't make it any easier.

"I don't know why but she was always so mature. Always knew the right thing to do." I say softly.

"And she loved you. With every part of her being, she loved you." I give a sad smile.

"It's the same for me." I say softly.

"You have fun. Don't pull yourself back because you're still hanging onto her. Just because you move on doesn't mean you loved her any less or that the memories will fade. They will still be there." I smile and hug her.

"Thank you." I say softly. She kisses my cheek and let's me go home and get ready for my date.

I put on my nice black dress with slots either sides of my thighs. The dress hugs my body perfectly. I accompany it by black heels. I put on some light make up, looking myself in the mirror I sigh. I really don't like how I look but it's too late to change now, as I'm meant to have left already to pick her up. I smile, biting my lip at the thought of being in her company again and not having the guilty and stress eat away at me.

I get into my car, starting the engine and reversing out of the garage, driving toward her place. I get out of the car, walking toward the front door, knocking on it. The same nerves that I felt the first time I had gone to her apartment.

~.~

I had argued once again with my mother. Over the fact that she had let my worthless father come back yet again, and walk all over us. She had gotten a busted lip from him. So I argued with her to kick him out again. While we were arguing my dad walked through the front door and all I saw was red, I started to yell and scream at him, which I new better, getting myself a beating.

Sitting in my room, I start to sob and wince at the now bruising eye forming. Grabbing my phone I call Arizona.

"Hello?" She falls down the end of the call.

"Arizona." I cry out in a sob.

"Hey, Laura, what's happened?" She asks concerned for my wellbeing.

"I had a f-fight with my m-mum and dad." I try to tell her but my voice shakes and stutters from trying to hold in my sobs.

"Are you okay?" She asks. The worried tone is getting more frantic.

"No." I cry down the phone.

My ribs hurting from the punches and my eye is getting close to closing from the bruise and the fact that I don't have any ice packs to put on it.

"I'm coming over." She says.

"No, I don't want you getting hurt." I say in a sob.

"Wait...they hit you?" She asks with anger behind her voice.

"My dad did." I say more softly.

"I'm coming. I won't come inside I promise. I'll message you when I'm outside." She says. I knew there wasn't any changing her mind.
