Archer's shift ended earlier then mine, so my partner was switched to Dave. I smile and hug him as he walks in. I am partnered with Dave two days of a week, as the rest of our times do not match.

"So, how's your friend we helped at the beginning of the week?" He asks as he buckles into the car.

"She's good. Had another scare lastnight. But she knew who it was." I say. He nods his head.

"How's Tyler? Archer told me he's woken up." I smile and nod.

We start our patrol around our allocated areas, stopping every now and again to give speeding tickets but nothing major. I soon hear my phone buzz.

Looking down I see a message from Arizona. I hand my phone to Dave. Who looks at me oddly, causing me to roll my eyes.

"Read it, tell me what is says, I'm driving." I say.

"Oh, it's from Arizona, she's asking if you mind her and her son coming over for dinner again." He says, looking up at me once he is finished reading it. I smile.

"Can you reply, saying that it's fine and I'll pick her up from work since she doesn't have her car." Dave types away for me.

A small chuckle escaping his lips, making me nervous, maybe he wrote something he wasn't meant to. I glance his way to see him grinning like an idiot.

"What did you type?" I ask him.

"I typed what you said." He says innocently. I roll my eyes.

"With that stupid grin on your face and your chuckle, I doubt that very much." He gives a full laugh.

I park on the side of the road for a moment and take my phone from him seeing what he wrote. I feel my face redden so horribly.

He had written a text saying 'you can have me for dinner.' I turn to him and whack him upside the head. He whines and rubs his head.

"I could charge you with assaulting an officer you know!" He sulks.

"Trust me when I say it takes everything in me not to do more than whack you." I say.

I turn back to my phone and quickly type the message he was meant to type as well as apologising for his idiocy, letting her know my co-worker had taken the phone and written that. I bite my lip waiting impatiently for her answer. My heart beat quickens when my phone buzzes.

'That's okay, I knew it wouldn't have been you. And thank you, Justin has really taken a liking to your sons.'

I smile at her text and give a short reply saying I'm glad he has and no worries about dinner. Putting my phone away I start the car up again and continue driving.

We stop at a local cafe for a lunch break. He holds the front door open for me, I smile and walk in with him. It's always quite funny seeing people stare at us, a mixture of fear and respect. Every time an officer walks into a store or a cafe.

"Hi, how can I help you today?" I young boy asks us from behind the counter.

"Can I get a cappuccino with one sugar and a meat pie." Dave asks. He turns to me waiting for me to tell the boy what I want.

"I'll just get the same but no sugars." I say smiling.  The boy nods as he punches everything down on the cash register.

"That's $19.45 all together." He says politely.

Before Dave can get his wallet out I have a $20 bill out and hand over to the boy as Dave sighs. We take our order number and sit down at a table next to a window which shows is the parked cars in front of the cafe.
