Part 13: Dark Akuma

Lydia's POV

Its been a few days since we've learned how to control our gifts but I can't help but feel that there is more to them then we know...
I break from my though when Marinette called me over to see the kwamis who have fully gained their strength back. "You're all okay!" I say and Duusu nuzzles my cheek. "Thanks to you guys." Tikki says. Plagg flies up and out of the basket and looks around for Adrien in the studio but does not see him. "He just went home last night. He's on his way." I say to make Plagg feel better. A moment later Adrien burst through the door in a hurry. "There's an akuma, and its stronger than I've ever seen." He says and Plagg flies up to him. "Then what are we waiting for? Time to test your new gifts!" He says. "But you just woke up, don't you need time to rest?" Marinette asks in a worried voice. "We'll be fine." Tikki says and we all transform and head to downtown where the akuma is.
When we arrive at the scene there are fires and alarms going off everywhere and no people insight. "What or who exactly are we fighting?" I ask and my question is answered when the akumatized victim shows themselves. "I am the Boogeyman. Here to wipe out all dreams and light and bring darkness to the world." He says and Chat and I can't help but snicker at the fact that he calls himself the boogeyman. "So.. did you pop out from a storybook for something?" Chat says sarcastically but he is then quickly shot down with darkness. "Do you think he's the great darkness we are suppose to fight?" Ladybug asks as Chat gets up. "I don't think so. It wouldn't be an akumatized victim that Hawkmoth sent." I say and dodge an attack. "Are you okay?" I ask Chat. "Yea." He says and brushes himself off. "We need to split up, take his attention off of Marinette." I say. "You hit him high and I'll hit him low." Chat says and we split up while Ladybug figures out where the akuma is. I fly up behind him and send him flying and Chat trips him with his baton making the Boogeyman fall over but he quickly gets up. "That's all you got?" He asks and sends a wave of darkness at Marinette who doesn't react in time. "NO!" I yell and something over comes me and in a split second something protects Marinette from harm because the darkness doesn't touch her but some sort of force field that's surrounding her. "What?" The Boogeyman says in shock. "Didn't expect that did you?" I say and sends a wave of darkness to me but instead of making a force field I somehow send a wave of my own back at him, but it was pure light. "You are the light Blue!" Marinette yells over the commotion as I try to keep focus on not letting go. I keep the light wave going until it eventually knocks the victim off his feet and Marinette is able to get his watch and break it, only to find out that's not where the akuma is and he gains his strength and knocks her down. "Ladybug!" Chat yells and he shoots his cataclysm at the Boogeyman but it looks a lot like darkness, and you can't bet darkness with darkness. "Chat, make sure she's okay. I'll deal with him." I say and he nods and runs over to Ladybug who is lying on the ground a few feet away. I make a forcefield around him so he can't hurt anyone. "What made you so dark? So angry that you want to destroy dreams and all that is good in the world?" I ask as I step closer. "My dream was destroyed!" He yells. "That does not give you the right to do this. You have control over your actions. You don't have to listen to Hawkmoth." I say and step closer again. "No one can snuff out the light, because wherever there is darkness someone will always be looking for a light. And I'm that light." I say and a burst of what felt like pure energy, pure goodness exploded and when it was gone all the damage that was caused was fixed and the akuma was flying in front of me. I held out my hand and the moment it landed on my fingers it turned a bright shade of yellow and flies away. Ladybug and Chat helped the innocent man up and explained to him what happened and that it was not his fault. He thanked us and walked away trying to wrap his head around what just happened. "That was amazing, how did you do that?" Ladybug asked. "I'm not exactly sure. I just knew that I could." "Well, one thing is for sure. This darkness that's coming won't stand a chance against you." Chat says. "Against us." I correct him and we start heading back to the studio since it was only the afternoon and the beginning of a big battle that is coming.
