prologue

"Who..who.. are you?" I breathed out, my chest rising up and down as I squint my eyes to try to get a clearer and better look at the mysterious feminine figure.

An odd humourless laugh filled the dark room as I focused my gaze on the figure. She shook her head slightly as she strolled towards me. I immediately reacted and took a few steps back, only to bump into the back wall. Damn.

The girl smiled a sinister smile and tilted her head slightly as if she were examining my face. She raised her hand and dragged her awfully cold but smooth surfaced thumb across my dry lips as I stiffened and remained frozen in place. The girl took a step closer and slowly leaned in,

"Your lips are smooth," She whispered into my ear which sent chills running up and down my spine as I felt the hairs on my skin stand up.

"Thanks.. I guess." I hesitantly replied, looking down at my feet. The figure let out a quiet giggle as she backed away.

"You sure you wanna know?" She smiled, directing her gaze to the walls around the room as she took a strand of her hair and twirled it around her finger.

"Know what?" I asked in confusion. The girl looked back at me and smirked,

"You don't remember? Just a minute ago you asked me who I was." She replied, carefully eyeing me as she raised an eyebrow.

I awkwardly scratched the back of my head,

"Right, yeah," I said as I smiled slightly. How could I be so stupid? Wait, why the hell am I even smiling? My smile quickly vanished as I looked up only to be greeted with the darkness.

I furrowed my eyebrows, where did she go?

I lifted myself off the back wall as I silently walked through the room, hoping to find the girl that I wouldn't have expected to be looking for, ever.

"Hello?" I raised my voice as I cautiously look around the room.

"Where are you?" I said out loud, turning around.

Suddenly, I felt something touch the back of my neck, almost like someone. I shivered and wrapped my arms around myself. The hairs on my neck stood up as I lightly rubbed it with one hand, hoping for the feeling to go away. Could it have been her?

I sighed as I ducked my head and ran my fingers through my soft curls.

"Just... just tell me your name, please." I quietly begged, turning around once more.

"Turn around, Harry." Someone said, who I presumed was the figure. I quickly turned around and let out a gasp. There she was.

"How do you know my name?" I asked demandingly, taking a few steps towards her.

The figure only smiled, "My name is Scarlett," She starts, completely ignoring my question. Scarlett turns her back towards me as she begins to make her way out, her wavy, dark brown hair clear in sight,

"Scarlett Winters."
