Sasuke Uchiha still remembered everything.

Every detail, every word, every flick of his brother's weapon - all of it. The blood, the lifeless bodies, the sheer terror on his face, and the tears that seeped through Itachi Uchiha's eyelids that night.

The massacre.

He remembered spending years and years trying to gain more strength in order to avenge his family, his clan, and defeat his ruthless, treacherous brother. And when he finally succeeded, he heard such a terrifying revelation from a man who called himself Madara of the Akatsuki.

And there, he realized how Itachi tried to fight for the better; how he tried to become the savior of the village, even turning his back on the Uchiha clan just so he could protect Konoha. Itachi gave his life in order to attain peace in the village. He genuinely loved Konoha.

Sasuke had sleepless nights after learning everything. Although, unlike before when the massacre happened, his heart was filled with remorse upon learning the buried truth about his brother.

Sasuke breathed in.

The waves of memories filled his mind, but it didn't haunt him anymore.

Forgetting wasn't such an easy task. This was one of those times where everything would flash inside his mind; as if he was suddenly caught in a genjutsu where everything just plays like a video right before his eyes. From those times where he was a little kid, insisting his brother to teach him how to use shuriken; Itachi poking and flicking his forehead, her mother preparing meals for them and cheering him up, and his father watching him with keen eyes.

It was way too hard to forget.

It was hard to forget the memories you cherished the most.

And maybe - that wasn't what he needed to do. He didn't need to forget. He can keep those memories inside of him. He can treasure those times as much as he wants. He just needed to forgive. Just forgive.

Normally, he would get fueled with anger every time he remembers such a painful recollection. If he were his sixteen-year-old self, that would have been the case. If he were still that blood-thirsty avenger who would point his Chidori to all those who gets in his way, he would have seeked more power and drown himself more in the darkness.

But no. He was a grown up. Sasuke had his mind clear today. Unlike before, there was no animosity in his system now. No hatred for Konoha, no loathing for the Council, no urge to kill his teammates - who happened to be his weakness. None of that - probably just craving for that family love that he once felt.

Sasuke loved his clan more than anything or anyone. If he had a choice to meet them again in exchange for his life, he'd gladly die - that was what he told himself before seeking vengeance.

He loved them but they're not coming back. They'll never come back, but he knew they were watching over him. Silently, just in the sidelines, they're supporting all of his decisions, whether they're good or bad.

And, just like what his older brother told him - whatever he decides in the future, he will always love him.

He would love to be with them again, but now, he had a purpose to live. And not to mention - he personally wanted to stay in the world longer, even after everything that happened.

Sasuke had a family and a village to protect.

He had a wife and a daughter.

"Konoha."

He finally reached the entrance, meeting a pair of twinkling, large emerald eyes that he wouldn't probably get tired of staring at; it was her, with that gentle smile on her face as the wind blew her short pink hair against her rosy cheeks.

"Welcome home, Sasuke-kun."

It brought back the memories of the first time he went back after traveling. She was there, standing firmly with a glint on her eyes that mirrored his - love and longing. This time, however, she wasn't alone.

Beside his wife was the black haired Uchiha who resembled Sakura and himself, pushing her eyeglasses up and smiling brightly at him.

"Welcome home, Papa."

. . .

Hello!

I'm back with another SasuSaku fanfiction, featuring the Uchiha family! (And by extension, probably the most decent Sasu x Saku fanfic I've written, because the rest are so sucky and cringe-worthy).

This is for everyone to enjoy but I would like to dedicate this to my False Hope readers. I know I seriously messed all of you (I'm sorry but I'm not really guilty. hehehe) so this story is to make up! (:

We're SasuSaku deprived even in The Last movie. But okay lol, the Gaiden compensated. Still, I decided to write this just so we can get a glimpse of the Uchihas - Sarada's growth, Sasuke and Sakura as parents and lovers.

What you need to know about the story is written below:

a.) This will only be quite short, more or less 10 chapters. This will mostly focus on SasuSaku and Sarada, because I may have forgotten some details about Konoha and the other characters because it's been quite a while since I watched the Last and the Fourth Nin-War. (cue awkward cough) but yeah lol you get the point.

b.) This follows after Naruto Gaiden: The Seventh Hokage. Sasuke and Sarada already met and please don't hit me up with those 'Sakura isn't Sarada's biological mother' because she is. Okay? She is.

c.) While I had seen short clips of Boruto the Movie, I haven't seen the full movie or the Next Generation episodes. That being said, I will not follow the storyline of those two so please don't be confused. This story shall have the setting I want, so remember that this has nothing to do with the movie at all.

d.) I don't know if you guys would find some characters OOC (out of character [ehem sasuke ehem]) but please don't hesitate to comment your thoughts. I will try my best to portray the characters like how they were, but of course a little mature than before and also add a few small changes because of the circumstances (they have children, so of course growth and change of attitude is important). Although it's actually very hard writing fluffy SasuSaku scenes because Sasuke was never the vocal type about his feelings, I'll still do my best :D

e.) While you are reading this tediously long list of settings, characters, and whatnot, I'd also like to add that I have no update schedule. I also think it will be better if you guys know that I'm starting school again next month, so updating isn't really the top priority.

f.) This story will most likely focus on the characters' feelings/emotions, and there won't be a lot of conflicts as I only want to explore the daily lives of the Uchiha family. There will still be a rising action, of course, but not too extreme - just something that will concern the three most important characters of this story. I'm saying this in case you're anticipating some badass fighting scenes because no lmao

Besides I suck at action scenes smh

But I can always change my mind, you can't trust a girl like me lol my mind is ALWAYS wondering around and if I find a good plot twist, I'd apply it right away. (don't be like me)

g.) There will be some references to Sakura Hiden, Sasuke Shinden, and even Akatsuki Hiden. Very few but some of you might point them out.

I hope you guys enjoy! Feedback is greatly appreciated (:

carly
