Chapter 1

"We need to sort out this triangle" Lucas said sitting in between Maya and Riley

"Yes but who do you choose?" Maya turned to him slightly, Riley didn't really talk much she knew how to solve this triangle but didn't want to share anything.

*Lucas' phone rings*

"It's my mum..i have to go" Lucas quickly shot up and left through the window, leaving maya and riley to their thoughts.

*at Topangas cafe*

"I've got some news.." Lucas sat on one of the couches

"We're listening" Zay spoke up sitting next to him, the rest nodded

"I'm leaving 5 days after the summer holidays starts..I'm going back to texas to help Pappy Joe on his farm" lucas put his hands on his knees curious to what would happen next

"Well i'm sure you will have a great time Huckleberry" Maya spoke up since everyone was silent

"Yea im sure you will have a great time, Now if you excuse me i need to go" Riley got up then pulled maya up with her

"Bay window?" she asked

"Bay window right now!" Riley replied leaving through the door

Maya turned back to everyone who widened their eyes as if they were saying What's up with Riley? Maya simply shrugged her shoulders and followed her best friend to the window.

"Maya how are you fine with this? He is leaving to avoid the triangle"

"No Riley, remember how he said he had 24 horses he probably just missed them and his pappy Joe so he is going to see them" Maya felt her hand place around Riley's shoulder

"I guess your right"

" I know i am right" Maya smiled "it will all be okay"

Riley curved her lips into a smile and nodded.

*Maya's house*

phone buzzed waking her up she went to pick it up and texts from lucas were popping up

"Maya what happened with riley?"
"Is everything okay"
"Are you guys mad that im leaving?"
"maya .. did you like die overnight?"

She giggled before replying

"No i did not die, it's a saturday Ranger Rick don't you ever sleep in past 6:30?" She sent the text and then put her face on the pillow again trying to go back to sleep

Maya's phone buzzed again lighting up next to her

"Urgghh, Life it's saturday morning it is 7:15 am why are you up?" she mumbled to herself in a sarcastic way

"Oh okay, and No 6:30 every morning" she swiped the screen to reply and before she could another text popped up from him "Can we meet at the park?" she thought to herself about whether to go or not

"Yea sure what time?" she text back

"7:30?" she rolled her eyes it was 7:20 and she was still in bed

"8:00?" this time she could have a shower and get ready

"7:45"

"Huckleberry do you get how this works?" she text back smiling

"8:00 it is" He replied, she could tell he was smiling even though she wasn't with him they were like that with each other.

Lucas sat on the bench waiting for Maya to come, he was bouncing his knee trying to take his mind of something. Maya sits next to him.

"Hi" she smiled

"Hey" Lucas said back to her smirking

"Why did you want me to come here?" her eyebrows frowned in confusion

"How did Riley take it last night?" Lucas asked and he could hear her sigh a bit, maybe she thought this was about something else

"Riley..She was quiet, didn't really talk much she asked why you were leaving i told her you missed your 24 horses and stuff, she thought you were leaving to avoid the triangle"

"Oh no i want to solve it not run from it, I know who i want to pick i just needed to tell them at the right time" Lucas replied to looking down then at her they locked eyes and Lucas could see a fire in her blue ones

"Oh i get it you asked me here to see if Riley was mad because if she wasn't you could choose her without her storming away, i always get to be runner up on Riley!" Maya shot up and walked away from lucas, He called for her "Maya!!" but it seemed like she didn't hear him

"I choose you.." He mumbled to himself then sighed.

*Day 4 of summer break"

"I can't just sit here" Maya said sitting on her couch "I need something to do" it was pouring outside dark and cloudy, she didn't want to talk to Lucas or Riley because she would have to talk about the triangle..So she called up another friend.

"Hey what are you doing today?" Maya text her friend

"Nothing much..If only i had a friend that was bored too and wanted to watch Red Planet Diaries all day.." He text back, this made maya giggle he said exactly what she was gonna ask him

"Come to mine at 1:30.. I have the whole series" Maya looked at the clock it was 12:58 so she quickly went round tidying Katy & Shawn's and her's apartment, She wasn't ashamed of it anymore since Shawn moved in their apartment looked nicer and had two earning money parents.

"I'll be there!" she saw her phone light up then waited for him to arrive

"Maya, so good to see you i brought pancakes" he walked in and gave maya a hug

"Yea you too Zay, why pancakes?" she asked curiously

"Because i like them" he sits down on the couch beside her and they watched the TV series together.

Zay and Maya were like best friends apart from Riley of course, they were so similar Sarcastic and funny. Zay and Maya were always together hanging out as friends but they were only ever friends because They both liked other people Maya liked Lucas and Zay liked one of the other friends in their group but only Maya knew who.

To each episode that came on they both sang aloud " i Kiss your green face, But it feels like you're light years awayy!" then laughed.

*5:00 pm*

"Hey Baby girl what have you been doing all day?" katy walks in carrying a bag of groceries

"We just watched Red Planet Diaries" Maya walks over to her mom and takes the bag so she can shut the door

"Oh hey Zay, i didn't even realise you were here" she smiles and walks past he waves back.

"Riles, Zay, Farkle and smackle i'll see you guys in 4 weeks" Lucas stands up and waved goodbye

"What about Maya" Riley asked "Yea you didn't say bye to her" Farkle chipped in

"I said bye to her yesterday because she is out with Katy and Shawn today" Lucas said then waved one last time and headed out the door..He lied he hadn't seen Maya at all not even text.

He got on the the plane and stared out the window, All he could think about was the triangle.
