By the time morning class was over I was tired and more than annoyed with everything that breathed. I was well known for how grumpy I got when I was tired. I was lead into the vets office by my keeper and given the order to sit on the table. A few minutes passed in silence until middle aged man walked in with his face in a clip board. He looks at me moment and began his exam. He checks my eyes, ears, and heart beat before turning and rummaging around in a previously locked cabinet.

I see the needle and suddenly the all of my pent up emotions are let out. I cry and resist. Unfortunately the Keepers are stronger than me and I am easily held down. He takes his sample and it really wasn't that bad. We wait for a while and suddenly, while glazing at a screen I don't understand, the Vet and the keeper look on with shocked looks before the keeper breaks into a grin. "She's finally ready." The woman said with glee. Because I was distracted I did not notice the doctor inching closer to push a new needle into my neck. I struggled for a moment but then the world went dark.

When I woke I felt fear. I was no longer in the mindset of an animal or a child, the way I was trained to be. I was somewhere new, I have never once in my memory been anywhere new. I could feel that we were moving at a rather quick pace, possibly in a keeper's vehicle. I could see four walls, a fluff that I had previously been sleeping on beneath me, and a small screen playing one of my favorites.

I was in a transport crate. We had been shown a crate before when we were discussing adoption. Oh no, I'll never be adopted now. My outburst was too much. They are probably taking me to work with Crosses on some farm. I look down at what I am wearing and realize that it is not a terrible, dirty outfit but instead my favorite so far. It is a dress of what looks like liquid sliver draped in a tight bodice and fluffy skirt. On the top there is a intricate, symmetrical golden patter. It was obviously hand stitched with the most care.

They would not send me to a farm like this, would they? My questions will be answered soon as I feel our speed first decrease, then come to a gentle stop. Then I hear voices and the soft thud of doors closing as I feel the crate being once again moved. The minutes seem to be hours as the box is taken to its new destination.

I feel a turn, then the crate being lifted and put back down. Finally as the sound of a door closing resonates around the room the front wall of the crate falls open. I stay where I am for a moment, afraid of what might be waiting for me.

The first thing that I notice is that I am in a vet's room almost identical to the one it would seem I had just left. Second, was that I am alone. The final thing I noticed was a small book on the bed titled "So you're ready to be adopted?" As I read the six word phrase I feel like dancing with joy. I'm not going to a farm, I am finally going to get a Master! I grabbed the bundle of paper and begin reading eagerly. I was slightly disappointed that it didn't say much about adoption, other than it usually takes about four weeks, because once every month they have an open house.

I read about my life until I get adopted. There is a kitchen downstairs that will make and deliver whatever I like to my assigned room. I will no longer have classes but there is a mandatory one hours play time with the other pets, not that I'll mind. During this time Masters may come to observe and we may hear them. Do not mind them, the book says, because they have paid a large fee just to see the pets. You can be assured that they are serious adopters looking for a pet. I am to wait for vet and after I am through here, I will be escorted to my room by my Keeper. My Keeper will not change for as long as I am here. This is strange to me, but I think it may be exciting.

No sooner do I close the book than a woman it a white vet's coat walks in, a vet is a comforting sight after my long journey. She smiles at me and begins speaking "Welcome to Tiny Treasures adoption center, little one. Now before you can be adopted you need a couple of vaccines and tracker. If it is alright with you, I'd like to get those done today." She tells me and after a few moment I give a small, frightened nod in reply.

Seeing my obvious discomfort she comes up to me, kneels, smiles, and says "If you are very good, and I'm sure a Cutie like you will be, I'll have a special prize for you." I feel better at this and give a stronger nod and slight smile. Soon though, that smile is gone as she comes back with a syringe full if something and a small replica of what appears to be a keepers weapon. Im not sure what they do, but I'm sure it's not good.

I whimper and she pets my hair with one hand comfortingly. This distracts me enough that I am taken by surprise when she needle goes under my skin the the liquid is pushed into my veins. "See that wasn't so bad?" The vet asks and midway through the sentence the weapon goes off. It doesn't really hurt but the noise scares me enough to burst into tear. The vet comforts me until I sit sniffling. She finally asks "Are you ready for your prize?" I nod somewhat eagerly and she turns to a drawer and retrieves a good sized stuffed cat. She is grey and black with huge blue eyes and a bow of the same dark shade on her head.
