After that whole encounter with that mystery guy, I felt incredibly tired. Thursdays always tired me out. soon after lingering in the bathtub some more, scrubbing myself off as hard as I possibly could to get the smell of food off me.

When I had pulled on my pajamas, I smelt like a freaking angel. But I still have to go to school tomorrow, so that ruined my mood. I peered over at the piece of paper with that guy's number. I had put it on my nightstand to make sure I wouldn't lose it. Maybe I should call him, it wouldn't hurt anybody. I reached for the paper and my cell phone, then dialed the number in.

One ring..two rings..three rings. I was just about to hang up when I heard his voice say "Hello?"

"Hi..it's me...the girl you, uh, bit." I said in a sort of shaky voice. I was nervous.

"Oh, hi. I didn't expect you to call me so quickly." He said to me with a laugh. Oh God, now he must think I'm desperate. I'm really not, though.

"Is this a bad time? I can call you later." I said to him hastily.

"No! Its fine, its fine." He said to me quickly. "So what is it you want to talk about?" He continued.

I really don't know exactly why I called him, maybe it was just to talk to someone or just for information. "So..what's your name? I don't think we ever came across that little detail. I'm Camille." I said to him.

"My name is Zane. Is that it?" He asked me.

"Do you go to school?" I asked, trying to find a conversation to talk about.

"I graduated last year. I'm seventeen." He said to me, a hint of boredom in his voice.

"You must be really smart to have graduated at seventeen." I said awkwardly.

"I skipped a grade." He said to me quickly.

"Oh..well, what's your family like?" I asked him. I heard a long sigh from him the second those words came out my mouth.

"I have a mom, dad, an older brother and a younder sister. My brother doesn't live with us. My sister is fifteen. We're all vampires. We all have dark hair and gold eyes. My siblings are incredibly annoying. I'm glad to be moving out soon, to get away from my parents and everything. I'm turning eighteen in August. Thats when I'm leaving." He said to me, a bit of annoyance in his voice.

"Well, I have two sisters, one is younger, and the other is in college, and a younger brother. My parents are divorced. I know I'm going to college or a university, or whatever. I'm not staying in this town, thats for sure." I said to him. I was getting bored too. "You start a topic now."

"What?" He said, like he hadn't heard me. He obviously did.

"You heard me. Start a topic. Say something. I kinda want to get to know you." I said to him quickly.

There was a long pause, as if he was trying to think of something. "Umm..why are your parents divorced?" I heard him blurt out quickly. "Oh..crap, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"

"Its okay." I interupted him, feeling like talking to him about it. I had never really talked about. Not even with my friends. I took a deep breath. "My dad left my mom when he found out she was pregnant with my little sister. He said he couldn't afford having four kids. He couldn't handle it. He just left one day. I woke up and he was gone. I thought he had gone to work, but when he didn't come home for a few days I thought he was on a business trip or something. My mom told me that he was gone, for good. She told me he told her, he was leaving, and that they're getting a divorce. I was only about fifteen or sixteen at the time. It broke me into pieces. I haven't seen or heard from my dad since the day before he left. For all I know, he could be dead now. I don't care. He left us. He could afford us just fine. He's a lawyer. He had plenty of money, its just that he didn't love us, or my mom anymore." I said, tears flwoing down my face. I had never talked about it, and now talking about after two years of silence, it had gotten to me.

"I'm sorry. I-I didn't mean to go into that subject." He said to me, sounding genuinely sorry.

"No, it's okay, really.I had never talked to anyone about it. It had bottled up inside me for two years. It felt..good to let that out." I choked while wiping the tears off my face.

"See, I'm horrible at choosing topics. You pick one now." He said awkwardly.

"Well, how is your whole family vampires?" I asked him.

"My mom was born a vampire. My dad was too. This was a long time ago. Maybe a few hundred years, I don't really know. I know they weren't living in this town. My brother, sister and I are vampires simply by genetics." He said to me.

I couldn't think of any other conversations. I was stumped. "Do you have a girlfriend?" Blurted right out of my mouth, completely on accident.

"Yeah." He said chuckling.

"Does she know your a vampire?"

"No..." He said trailing off.

"Whats her name?" I ask him.

"Skylar." He said simply. OH DEAR GOD. He cannot be dating that devil spawn.

"Skylar Duvall?!" I asked him, almost screaming. Please,oh please don't let him be dating that heifer. If he is I'm going to lose all respect for him entirely.

"Yeah, you know her? I never knew that." He said to me nonchalantly. I keeled over onto the floor into a crumpled heap, the phone falling out my hand and not the floor right beside my face.

He's dating the Devil's child. He is dating Skylar, my tormentor.

"Hey? You still there? Is something wrong?" I heard him ask me.

"No! I'm fine, just fine. I'm gonna get some sleep, so bye Zane." I said while pulling myself onto my bed.

"Yeah, okay, bye Camille." He said, and then he hung up the phone. I pushed my head onto my pillow, and pulled my covers over my body. I'm exhausted, and I don't care if it's only 2:30, I'm sleeping until tomorrow.

I shut my eyes and not too soon after, I drift off to sleep.
