I once saw a girl from across the bay.
Dark hair, silky, it flowed so long and far.
She made my heart grow three sizes that day.
I knew, just then, she was a fallen star.
A blessing, no doubt, had entered my life.
From out of my dreams, that beauty did walk.
My heart was pierced with a love-stricken knife.
And looking on her, I could barely talk.
Her smile shone like a shimmering gem.
I was all jitters as she looked at me.
Thus, bound to her love, I was now condemned.
She was the night sky, and I, the blue sea.
Like a heavenly dove, she was a sign.
My wonderful, lovely, sweet Valentine.
