I WAS REALLY ANXIOUS right now. Jared was about to show me his lyrics for the first time. I was shocked when he said he had them. I was disappointed that he hadn't come to me the minute he had written a few versus. I thought he would want to sing his songs together. And the fact that he hadn't made me a little angry too.

But I decided now was not the right time to be angry, I wanted to concentrate fully in his words. There are songs which I love their meaning and their story, but is not like I had met any of the authors of those, so they could have invented every word and no one could ever know. Now I was going to hear a song written by no one else than my best friend in the world, who I knew better than I knew myself, and I was sure he had written a song whose words carried real meaning, not just a shallow amount of words that sounded nice when placed together.

I couldn't stop moving my hands in anticipation when I locked eyes with him. I smiled at him, giving him my most possible reassurance smile. I was sure he was nervous, singing something of his for the first time. He smiled back and started playing, first only a beautiful melody, then, something different. Actual words:

A drop in the ocean
A change in the weather
I was praying that you and me might end up together
It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert
But I'm holding you closer than most 'cause you are my heaven

I don't wanna waste the weekend
If you don't love me pretend
A few more hours then it's time to go

And as my train rolls down the east coast
I wonder how you keep warm
It's too late to cry
Too broken to move on

And still I can't let you be
Most nights I hardly sleep
Don't take what you don't need from me

It's just a drop in the ocean
A change in the weather
I was praying that you and me might end up together
Its like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert
But I'm holding you closer than most 'cause you are my heaven

Misplaced trust and old friends
Never counting regrets
By the grace of God I do not rest at all

And New England as the leaves change
The last excuse that I'll claim
I was a boy who loved a women like a little girl

And still I cant let you be
Most nights I hardly sleep
Don't take what you don't need from me

It's just a drop in the ocean
A change in the weather
I was praying that you and me might end up together
It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert
But I'm holding you closer than most 'cause you are my

Heaven doesn't seem far away anymore, no no
Heaven doesn't seem far away
Heaven doesn't seem far away anymore, no no
Heaven doesn't seem far away, oh oh

A drop in the ocean
A change in the weather
I was praying that you and me might end up together
It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert
But I'm holding you closer than most 'cause you are my heaven
You are my heaven

Everyone cheered, but I didn't. I was still looking at him, who didn't looked away from me once while he sang those beautiful words. He had tears in his eyes, he wasn't crying, but his eyes were watery, filled with emotion, that indicated he did, indeed, felt all those words.

Someone put a hand in my shoulder and I straddled. I turn to my side to find Austin. Oh, right I had forgotten he was there.

"Are you okay?" He asked looking concerned.
