Chapter 11- Meeting Time

I didn't know what to say, I just shrank back in my in my seat, hoping to wake up from this nightmare. After a few minutes of silence filled with the King staring at me, Max finally found the courage to speak on my behalf, since after all he is the one that got me in this mess.

"Sorry Alpha King, but I asked her here because I thought she might have some important information about this situation. She was attacked by the Rogue Kings pack just yesterday. I thought she me might shed some light on our current situation. I can escort her back out if you would like."

"No it is fine for now. I will listen to what she has to say, but next you bring someone to these meetings besides yourself, you better inform me first."

"Yes Alpha King."

Now they were all looking at me, but I didn't know what I should tell them. I know for sure I didn't want to tell them the whole truth, because they would probably freak and do something irrational.

"Well little girl you can now speak, that is if you are capable of talking in full sentences." the Alpha King said to me still glaring. Obviously he had some anger issues and refuses to be happy or smile.

"Well when I went for a run and on the way to a cabin that my brother and I used to go to I was surrounded by the rogue pack. I shifted back and they didn't attack or anything, but when I tried to walk away they blocked me. Then, the Rogue King came out and started talking to me and telling me his life story and how it all was about this prophecy that I was apparently apart of, because he thought I was the white wolf. Which is ridiculous since my wolf has grey fur not white you can---"

I stopped myself and covered my mouth with my hand because I wasn't going to tell him all that now all the cards on the table I just hope nothing crazy happens now. But as everyone knows by now I don't usually get what I wish for. You know the saying the calm before the storm, well this was kind of like that. Everything was dead silent then erupted into chaos.

"How is that possible? There hasn't been a white wolf in years!"

"This has to be a mistake I have seen your wolf is definitely not white."

"What prophecy was he talking about?"

While all the alphas were staring at me asking me all these questions that I had no clue as to what the answers were, the Alpha King was just sitting there staring at me for a minute then seemed to space out. Then he seemed to finally snap out of it when the talking became way too loud.

"QUIET!!"

He stood up and looked at all the alphas, but this time he didn't look as intimidating for some reason. He looked calm and calculating. He was trying to process what I had said and piece everything. I know that if what the Rogue King said to me was true he would know what had happened, but I don't know if he knew about the prophecy.

"OK everyone needs to calm down and take a breath. What she has said does make a bit of sense and I think I know what he wants and what he thinks is going to happen, but I have to do some research first with the pack scribe in the library. While I am there get the packs gathered and no one is to leave the grounds until after this is over. Get some people to get blankets and pillows. We will meet back in this tent at seven o'clock tonight to make a plan."

Everyone nodded and started to disperse to do the jobs he gave to them. Max and I were about to head out of the tent when the Alpha King called us back inside for a moment.

"What is your name little girl?"

"I am Sophia, Alpha"

"Sophia I want you back here at six thirty, with Maximum to discuss some things before the meeting. Are we clear?"

"Yes sir,"

"Ok then you can relax for now, but I will expect you guys back here at six thirty and no later."

Max and I then left, he went to help the other alphas to help organize everything. Since the King told me to relax I planned on doing just that and taking advantage of it while I can. I went a little ways into the woods and found a lake on the edge of the property. Lucky for me this is just what I needed to get rid of my stress and forget my worries for a few minutes.

I stripped and got into the water, it was just the right temperature for me. I floated on my back for awhile then I started swimming laps in the water. I did that until I felt tired and decided to just float in the middle of the lake until it started to get dark at five.

I was floating peacefully when I felt like I was being watched I turned in a circle looking for any peeping toms trying to get a free show out of my afternoon dip, but didn't see anybody. I started to wade toward the shore when I heard a splash in the water behind me. I turned back around, but didn't see any disturbance in the water besides the ripples.

When I turn back around I feel arms go around my ankles trying to pull them out from under me. I flail my legs, but they just grab my waist and pull down. I lose my footing and go under water, and they get on top of me and stand on me to keep me at the bottom. I kept struggling and pushing until I couldn't stand the urge to breathe in. My lungs filled with water and black started to take over my vision until I couldn't feel, hear, or see anything. I was surrounded by the blackness.
