Amalthea P.O.V.

As I pressed answer, I wondered who it could be that knew my number. Besides my family and my 'new' friends.

"H-H-Hello?" I stuttered, hearing nothing on the other side of the line. I waited a second for a reply, and when no one replied, said again, "H-H-Hello, a-anyone t-there?" With no replies, the line went off. I closed my phone wondering was it a prank call or actually someone trying to talk to me. But then, nearly no one know my number, so how?

I walked into the house, knowing that my parents still at work, but I still said, "I'm home!" I went to my room, and lay back on the bed. I went through my memories from today, to see if those were actually true or it was just a dream. But it seems that it actually happened. I actually made friends!

I grabbed a book from my desk, that my dad just recently brought for me and open it to the page where I left off the other day.

"Amalthea! I'm home!" Mom yelled toward my room jingling the keys.

"Ok mom! I'm coming down!" I said as I put down my book and walked downstairs.

"I thought I told you not to put your book out like this after you finished using it!" Mom said fiercely, but not threatening. She loves to keep everything clean.

"Mom, that's not mine's. If you would look at it first, you would tell that to dad," I said pointing to the cover of the book on the table.

"Oh... Sorry then... I knew you wouldn't do that..." Mom said as she got ready to make dinner.

"What?! You are actually going to the dance?" My mom asked me, nearly yelling, and she was surprised, of course. I never ever been to a dance before, so this was new to her, and to me.

"Yes," I said, while I was putting my plates away and then sat back down at the table.

"Gerard, did I hear her right? That's my little daughter is finally going to a dance?" Mom asked dad.

"That's what I heard," my dad said, staring at me as if I said something crazy.

"Mom, dad, I'm going to the dance, which is next week," I said it sternly, looking serious. Just looking at their faces, while I told them was funny. But I can't blame them, I'm surprise myself that I wanted to go to the dance. "Also, I'm not a little girl anymore!"

"OMG," mom exclaimed her eyes lit up. "Tomorrow, after school, we are going to look for the perfect dress and shoes, and all the accessories!"

"O-Ok, but I might be late tomorrow, I have to do something," I sighed. I thought it was better not telling them about my 'new friends'. Today's one day that has never happened before, a day of making new friends, and telling your parents that you are finally go to a dance.

"So, who are you taking?" Dad asked me still staring at me, like I've done something that was really unusual. Well maybe I said that I'm going to the dance was unusual, but was it that unusual for me to go?

"Um... I'm going alone," I haven't thought of this before, but since it was my first, I think it would be safe to go alone.

"Aw... Your first dance, alone, I never thought this would ever happen while you are still in school," mom said as if she was admiring me. I sighed.

"Ok mom, I'm going to go and finish my homework," I said as I stood up, getting ready to walk back to my room.

"Ok! My daughter is finally growing up!" Mom said happily like a five year old kid who just got something they wanted for years on their birthday.
