Danny Cohen

There he was, standing in front of me. No shirt on, revealing his marvelous, toned six pack. Tiny water droplets were dripping from his hair, running down his face to his chest and stopping at his waist band of his shorts, which were hanging dangerously low. I felt my wolf trying to come out and take over, but I wouldn't let him, I just wanted to relish the moment just too myself.

"Uh, sorry to interrupt, I'll just be going now" I heard an angelic, soft voice say

I looked up into his warm chocolate brown eyes, they were full of so much hatred and despair, was it towards me? My wolf whined at that thought, I looked away from, I couldn't take it anymore.

"Wai-" just when I was about to start saying something, a voice interrupted me

"Layla, where are you?" I realized that voice, it belonged to Xavier

"I'm in here, Xavier" Layla said

I ignored them and turned back to my mate, but he wasn't there.

'Go find mate and apologize to him' my wolf demanded

Layla Cortdale

"What is it, Xavier?" I asked while he walked into the kitchen

He put down his things, walked over to me and stood next to me. He had a goofy smile on his face and he was hiding something behind his back, but I couldn't see it, he was leaning over me.

"Layla Ann Cortdale, would you do me the biggest favor and go on a date with me?" He said going on one of his knee and taking out a red rose from behind him

"Awe, Xavier, I would love too" I gushed while standing up and taking the rose out of his hand.

I held the rose up to my nose and inhaled. I pulled Xavier in for a hug and pecked his lips.

"I have to go and finish some work, but I'll pick you up at 6 and wear something casual" he said, while leaning forward to kiss my cheek

"I will" I said, smiling brightly

Kingsley Ford

I had to get out of there as soon as possible, it was killing me to be around him. His scent was suffocating me. I ran up the stairs and headed to Layla's room, I went inside and locked the door. I started to breathe erratically, my throat was getting dry and I started to feel light headed.

'Keep it together, Kingsley!' I thought to myself

I was too dazed in my thought that I didn't hear the knocking at the door. I took a deep breath and opened, Layla came in with a big grin on her face

"Oh my god, King! I have to get ready for my date" she started to ramble on, she walked over to her closet and started rummaging through the clothes

"I have nothing to wear, I need to find something casual and- what happened?" She asked when she turned around and looked at me.

"Nothing" I said, plastering a fake smile

I tried to put on a facade to mask my despair, but Layla is no fool

"LIES!" She quickly accused

I put both my hands up in defense and back up

"What?" I confusedly asked

"You're a liar... " she said stalking over to me with her pointer finger out towards me. "Kingsley, I know your upset." She said sighing "I hate to see you like this, it kills me"

I looked at her with a sorrowful expression," I'm trying to get over him, I really am"

"And I'm not asking you too, it's gonna take time. All I want you to do is talk to me, just talk to me and express yourself and your thoughts" she said giving me a warm, thoughtful smile
