"I don't like it." Perrie spoke after I showed her my new song.

"What?" I asked confused. "Why?"

"Because it's not gospel, and this is not what your father wants you to be doing."

"That doesn't tell me if it was good or not."

"It's not good, alright Zayn?"

I sat there upset.

"Oh, don't be like that Zayn. You know I only want what's best for you."

"And what's that?"

"Going to a christian college and studying gospel. That's what everyone wants."

"What if it's not what I want?" I whispered.

"Zayn, this is what you want. You've always wanted this."

Just then Liam started calling.

"I'll be right back." I said and got up to walk outside so she couldn't over hear me talking to Liam.

"Hey." Liam answered when he noticed that I picked up.

"Hi." I said softly.

"What is it? What's wrong?"

"Perrie didn't like the song. She told me I should just stick to gospel."

"Zayn." Liam sighed. "I think it's time for your next experience."

"But I don't want to break up with her."

"Look, if she loved you, she would have told you it wasn't good, but still supported you. Not dump on you and tell you to give up."

"But-"

"-no buts. You need to dump her. Then come over to my house and we'll write about it."

"I don't think it's that simple."

"It's that simple. Trust me."

I sighed.

"Alright."

"There you go. Now text me when you are on your way."

"Alright." I said and then hung up.

I slowly made my way inside and sat down on the couch across from Perrie.

"So?" she asked with a smile. "What do you want to do today?"

"We need to talk."

Perrie sat back and I could tell she knew what was going to come out of my mouth next.

"We need to break up Perrie."

"And why is that? Because I didn't like your stupid R&B song that you aren't suppose to be recording?"

"That, and you don't really love me."

"I do love you Zayn. A lot."

I looked into her eyes that use to be my happy place... where I wanted to live out the rest of my days... but just saw grey. Nothing colorful about them.

"No you don't." I said with a sad smile. "I've learned that now. We're done."

"Fine!" she said and got up. "I hope you're happy on your own." she said and stormed out of my house.

I sighed and then texted Liam that I was on my way.

It took me a good thirty minutes, but I finally arrived at his house.

I knocked and when he opened the door I couldn't help but cry.

"Oh, come here." Liam said and hugged me.
