I laughed at her. "You must be really blind to think that my flaws don't affect me."

She just shrugged and picked up a tiny flower in her hand; twirling it, she began, "look at nature. Look at flowers. When have you ever walked into a garden or a park and said, "that flower would be beautiful if it were greener. Or taller? Maybe if its petals turned blue?" No, we don't. Because nature was created perfect just as it is, just as it always will be. And so are we. Humans, you, me, we are part of nature. We are perfect just as we are."

I was quiet for a while; her thoughts began to unravel inside my mind as if she was a knitted sweater with torn sleeves.
