It was silent, except for the distant sounds of cars driving to destinations only they knew. A woman hurried along a sidewalk holding a bundle of blankets in her arms. Inside that bundle was a sleeping baby girl. The woman stopped at a old brick building. There was a small gold sign next to the door.
San Diego Orphanage
The woman took a deep breath before knocking on the door. The door swung open revealing a middle aged lady.
"Take care of her please," The woman said handing the other woman the bundle with the baby along with a note. The woman then took off without another word.
The orphanage lady looked down at the sleeping child in her arms before walking back inside. She placed the little girl in a crib before heading to her office where she opened the note.
The baby's name was Ceneedra (sen-ee-dra). No one knew then how complicated her life could get.
