Acrostic: Consider the Source

©2016, Olan L. Smith

Cumbersome reasoning racks sanity's notions

Overloading our thoughts as we try to select,

Nonetheless, forget that absolute accuracy is the evasive

Sounding over the eons, "Who did what to whom?" That

Is a question never weighed without prejudices.

Despite our effort to remain neutral we lack integrity, and

Even in our own thoughts lie the delusion of truth,

Reminding us we come close and yet miss wide, for

The aim of justice's arrow flies on unstable currents

Hindering the goal and never hitting the bulls eye,

Eventually, comes the winnowing of lies and what

Sounds true is false to reveal only glimmers

Of certainty, for the pearl sought is seldom found.

Under the heavens sources have immoral ideas in mind

Rescinding all hope, it seems wickedness does not care about

Certainty, its only concern is the rule of

Evil.

Evil
