DEATH NOTE ONESHOTS

On Purpose {Lawlight}

This is  probably going to be crap and shit but im still going to write it (i thought this was going to be around 500 words but its actually 1.5k oops... thats what Lawlight does to me)

WARNING: some parts of this are made up but some others are taken from the series finale so yep

also, after writing this, I realized that it probably has nothing to do with this song but I'm still naming it 'On Purpose' bc i like the name... and who knows, maybe there'll be another oneshot with the same name that can actually relate to the song somehow

"...therefore it is obvious that Light Yagami, the guy who makes himself call L now, is Kira, after L's deductions and Mello's help, the chances are finally at 100%" Near, Light didn't like him at all, but now... he was willing to confess just to kill him, how could he talk like L? "I have to admit that without Mello I wouldn't have been so sure, we both knew that apart we were nothing compared to our admired L, but together we would be able to outsmart him if we wanted to"

Just four pulls and less than a minute and Near could be dead "would you please stop talking like him?! You aren't him! You're not even close to who he was!" Light shouted, he needed someone to distract Near and he'd be able to kill him, he glanced at his clock "Ryuk, let's make the deal" he said, everyone looked at him confused, some not knowing what he was talking about and some not knowing who he was talking to

The Shinigami smiled "heh, I thought you'd never say it" then, Light grinned and looked at Near, who blinked in confusion

"I wish you'd been more informed about the whole thing, Near, it would've been way more fun and interesting" his heart hurt when those words left his mouth, knowing that was what he had said six years before when he first heard of L. the youngest of all the assistants frowned, what did he not know?

"What are you talking about, Light? You aren't Kira" Matsuda said unsure of his own words, too many people had accused Light of being Kira, it couldn't be just a councidence

Light turned and walked towards a wall "no. I wasn't Kira..." one pull "ther was a time..." two "I didn't know..." three "who Kira was..." four. Click "so, I didn't really lie, I didn't know anything about it..." now, write the name... Nate River "even though L thought otherwise-"

"Light... don't do it" his eyes widened as he looked up, a silhouette he knew too well stood there, in front of Near, he was glowing, and no one else could see him "don't you remember? You weren't happy, I know you weren't... and he's the only successor I've got left, you killed them all... I- please Light... or Kira or however you want me to call you... there's one thing I didn't tell you... I did use the Death Note once" then Light remembered, if someone uses the Death Note, they won't be abke to go to Heaven nor Hell... did they all go to the same place? Was that what L was trying to tell him?

"Don't deny it, Yagami, you are Kira now and you were Kira six years ago when it all began" Near said

Light glanced at L again "that's right... I'm Kira" the room fell silent, the only thing Light could hear was his heartbeat and L

"You know what's coming now, do you?" He asked, Light looked down, he knew that was the end, even if he wouldn't admit it "the battle was fun, I'll be waiting for you" L said before disappearing

"Why did you kill them? Why did your father have to die?" Matsuda cried pointing his gun at him, about to pull the trigger

"Before you do that..." Near said, stopping him from killing Light "why did you kill L and Mello? Why them?" He asked trembling slightly

Light decided to ignore the boy's questions and answered Matsuda's "why? You know why, people like him, so strict and close minded aren't going to help make the world a new and better place!"
