The little necklace was
folded in between the
flaps of the paper
airplane.
And as I closed
my eyes and
threw it high in
the sky, I watched
it fly away into
someone's palms.
Their hood was
pulled to cover
their locks of
brown, dangling
from the ends.
I watched as they
rubbed the necklace
with their tiny thumb
and a warm feeling
of a smile splashed
across their lips.
And I knew it was you. I knew it was
the person who would understand
all of my problems without comparing
it to their own.
