The cool morning breeze sweeps around the two of us as we walk side by side down a long narrow path.

I look to my right and chuckle at the sight of Luke. His skin is quite pale compared to what it used to look like since he never went out.

I look back in front of myself at the never ending path. "So why'd you feel the need to go for a walk?" I ask my blonde haired friend.

Luke looks at me with a small smile playing at his lips, "I don't know to be honest. I guess I just missed the outdoors."

I nod at his answer. "What did you miss the most?" I am curious.

"Probably the cool breeze and sunshine." Luke grins before looking down at the ground.

"Well I'm glad I can share this moment with you," I chuckle, slightly pushing his arm.

Luke shoots me a weird look.

"What?" I laugh.

Luke rolls his eyes. "Nothing!" he chuckles.

It is so weird to hear Luke laugh after all these months, especially after last night. I don't think he'll get over it that quickly at all. But it is satisfying knowing that even though he may not be laughing tomorrow, at least he is having fun today.

"Let's go get some ice cream," Luke announces.

"You're such a little kid," I laughs.

Luke pokes his tongue out at me. "Not as childish as your laugh!"

"Hey!" I mock hurt.

"What? It is the most high pitched thing I have ever heard come from a guy's mouth!"

I mentally shame myself before mentally whacking Luke over the head.

"Oh my god, lets just go get this ice cream," I whine, shaking my head at my friend.

"Fine by me," Luke laughs.

-.-.-

"Damn this is some fine ice cream," I smile.

"Whoa, calm down there Ashton. I don't want you taking that ice cream home." Luke smirks.

I laugh at Luke's words. "Oh I don't think I'll be able to wait that long," I wink.

Luke shakes his head, "geez you're so inappropriate."

"Like you can talk," I laugh, "haven't you heard yourself speak?"

"Ha ha whatever mate," he chuckles.

I can't help but think this day is making Luke better and better.

"I think I'm going to go home." Luke stands up, taking me by surprise.

I stand up as well. "Why?" I frown.

"Nothing, I just need to go."

This day has suddenly gone from good to bad in a matter of seconds; kind of like when Luke first started to act funny.

He's be having so much fun, laughing away and then BOOM he is down; sort of like a see-saw I guess.

"Come on Luke, just please stay here and have fun," I plead.

Luke looks me dead in the eyes, "it was fun while it lasted." I see Luke's attempt at a smile, but it doesn't last long.

Next thing I know, Luke is out of the ice cream shop and speed walking down the road.

I thank the shop owners for the ice cream before running out of the store after Luke.

"Luke, stop!" I call but he doesn't stop. I receive a few weird looks from random people, but I didn't care. All that is on my mind at the moment is making sure my friend is okay and that obviously isn't how Luke is at the moment.
