"Hey... You've got Katie. I'm probably watching Doctor Who. I'll call you back... eventually."
Beep.
"Hey, it's Luke! I'm so sorry for not calling for so long! Touring has been crazy. I have to make this fast; I'm on a break from practice. It's been so long since we've had an actual conversation over the phone. It's like we're playing tag through voicemails. Silly, huh?"
A laugh echoed through the phone line.
"I just wanted to say happy birthday. I was going to try to visit, but we're over in the states right now. It just didn't seem do-able. I'll talk to you soon, okay?"
Beep.
