"Hey, you've got Luke! I'm probably practicing, or with my beautiful girlfriend, Katie. I'll call you back as soon as possible, okay? Leave a message after the beep!"
Beep.
"Hey, Luke. It's Katie. Are you having fun on tour? I just wanted to check up on you."
There was a long pause on the line. It almost seemed as if the speaker had hung up, but then they spoke again. Their voice was heavier this time... more lonely.
"It feels as if everyone's been alienating me since you left. I'm sure it's just in my imagination, but I don't think the lot of them like me anymore. Not without you."
A bitter laugh echoed through the receiver.
"I miss you a lot, Luke. I love you. I hope you're having a lovely time on tour..."
Then, in a much quieter voice,
"without me..."
Beep.
