Not Seeing What Needs to be Seen

Matt's P.O.V.

I still can't get her face of my mind. Yeah she's hot, but I don't know where she's staying... but if I ever get to see her again, I would ask her out... but in order for that to happen I would have to break up with my girlfriend, Cindi. What was her name again? Nick, no, Nikkei, nope, Nikki, no.... wait yeah her name is Nikki.

When I asked my dad what her story was, he told me, "Her name is Nikki McAllen and her brothers name is Derek. They have been to 42 foster homes and were always abused. In Nikki' s words they have been through Hell." But when I asked him where she was going to school, he said that I need to be good to the new kids he heard about. I had no clue what he was talking about, but he wouldn't answer my question...

At the House

"Hey dad, I'm gonna go to the park to walk around." I yelled as I walked to the park.

As I got to that park I heard someone singing. But it wasn't a real song, but a lullaby. It was beautiful.

As I look behind the tree where the song was coming from. I saw....

Nikki's P.O.V.

"I love the way you laugh, they you smile,

but I haven't seen it for awhile,

let my love, be enough,

to send you into a sweet sleep," I finished my song for Derek to fall asleep.

But as I turned, I saw the one person I didn't expect... Matt.

My eyes widened as he stared at me.

"What the Hell are you doing here?" Matt finally asked.

"Be quiet. Derek's asleep. What are you talking about? I live two minutes away," I whispered.

"Oh okay that answered my question," he said sarcastically.

"What the hell is your problem?" I asked.

"Yeah okay, I'm the one with the problem." he said.

"And what the hell are you talking about?" I asked.

"I'm talking about all the shit you've been through," Matt said.

That was when Derek woke up.

"Sissy can we go back home? And sing the song mom used to sing?" Derek asked.

"Yeah, sure Baby." I said almost crying.

"Sissy what's wrong?" Derek asked me while giving me a hug.

"Nothing honey, I just miss mom." I lied.

"I miss them too," Derek said.

"Oh yeah, this is your little brother." Matt said suddenly.

"His name is Derek. But anyway we have to go," I said while getting up.

"Hey where are you going to school at?" Matt asked.

"At North Mansion, why?" I asked hesitantly.

"I'll pick you up tomorrow for school," Matt said smiling.

"I don't start for another two weeks," I said.

"Well then let me show you around the city," Matt said laughing.

"Alright, fine whatever." I told him

"Come on Sissy I'm hungry," Derek said pulling on my sleeve.

"Come on then," I said.
