Chapter 6

The next day...

Riker POV

I woke up, not from a nightmare this time. It was morning. I was glad I didn't have another nightmare.

I pulled myself out of bed, and used the bathroom. When I came out, I looked at the clock. 10:47. I missed breakfast. Not that I was planning on eating...

But I was feeling kind of sick. I felt like I had no energy. Part of that might be because I had an exhausting night. But it also might be from my lack of eating. I've only had a few french fries in the past couple of days. And water. But that was it.

My legs were shaking slightly as I walked back to my bedroom. I flopped down on my bed, exhausted.

Later...

Ellington POV

It was almost dinnertime, and I'd seen no sign of Riker all day. What if they like... got rid of him and sent him away somewhere!?

I decided to check him room before I went to dinner. Maybe if his stuff was still there, he was still here somewhere.

I opened his door.

"Riker!?"

He looked up at me from his bed. He honestly looked horrible.

"When did you get back?" I asked.

"Last night..."

"What happened?"

"I don't know..."

"Are you feeling ok?"

"I'm feeling anything but ok."

I sat down on the end of his bed as he sat up.

"What's wrong?"

"My stomach has never hurt so bad in my entire life."

"Riker, when was the last time you ate something?"

"When you forced me to eat those stupid french fries."

I sighed.

"Come on. It's time for dinner. Let's get some food in your belly."

"But it hurts!"

"Riker, it won't feel better until you eat something. Come on."

I had to pry Riker out of bed. He was all shaky and wobbly on his feet. I had to hold onto his arm to make sure he wouldn't fall over.

I sat him down at our table in the back, and then got us both food. We were having soup and some bread and butter. I pushed his tray in front of him, and then started eating. Riker just stared down at his bowl of soup.

"Riker, please eat. You'll feel better once you do. I promise."

"But my belly!"

Riker wrapped his arms tightly around his stomach. I really didn't want him to start crying, but his tone of voice made it sound like that could happen any minute.

"Riker. Please eat. I know you don't feel good. But if you eat, you'll feel so much better. Please. Trust me on this!"

He slowly picked up his spoon, and took a bite of his soup. Finally.

I had to keep trying to coax him to eat for the rest of dinner, but I actually managed to get him to finish his soup.

When we were done, I got rid of our trays, and then took Riker's arm. I dragged him back to his bedroom.
