The Second Step

I sat up. I couldn’t sleep again. I was thinking of her. The fear of losing her was suddenly gripping me. I shook my head. I had to wake to my senses. What was I thinking? What losing was I talking about?

I glanced at my phone to check the time.

12:34am

Again? Was it coincidence or was fate playing with me?

I had to try talking to her. I’ve got so much to lose if I didn’t. Today was Friday already, the last day I could be with her. I checked my schedule, I have only two classes and both were easy to be excused from. I decided to skip the day and spend it with her.

I went online to see who was up. Friends, exes, relatives, random people I don’t remember who exactly they were. Then I saw a familiar face with the name Adrielle. She was online.

Me: Hey

Aries: Hi :)

Me: You’re online

Aries: Uh no I’m a poser.

Me: Ha.. ha… Funny. What are you doing?

Aries: Changing my info and stuff.

At that, I refreshed my screen and to my pleasant surprise, she updated everything: pictures, work, cleaned up her wall with sad messages, and uploaded several pictures from her portfolio. Then she posted a status.

‘All my bags are packed, I’m ready to go. :)

It was a matter of seconds that her friends began flooding her with questions.

‘ARIA UR ALIIIIIIIIIIVE!’

‘How are you??? WHERE ARE YOU???’

‘Tadaaa~ finally you’re awake sleeping beauty.’

‘About time lil miss. ABOUT TIME. Get your ass on your dream!’

I was smiling as I read their conversations. She was laughing even in the comments and she was back to her seemingly old self. I genuinely felt happy for her. I couldn’t resist taking part of the fun. Out of nowhere, not thinking again, I posted a comment.

‘You deserve to be happy in anything you do. Take care little kitten.’

Face palm. There was no taking back of what I said. There was a flood of likes and reactions to my comment. Some even posted photo memes of drooling anime characters looking up at my comment. I half regretting causing the fuss, she might get angry or she might be annoyed. I can’t tell!

Me: Sorry for that

Aries: It’s ok :)

Me: Your friends are wreaking havoc over my comment.

Aries: You had good timing. Mostly they hardly notice.

Me: You’re not angry?

Aries: No. Y?

Me: Just making sure. Sorry again for the trouble.

I didn’t answer and started to scan the photos she uploaded. I also saw links of her gallery and blog and decided to check them out.  It was really beautiful but the layout was strangely dark.

Me: You like black?

Aries: No. I like red.

Me: Why are your sites in black layout?

Aries: I dunno actually. My mood tells me it should be black.

I didn’t understand what it meant. Then I suddenly thought of something to do for her.
