No matter what Jake did, he couldn't stop thinking about Kassidy. The scene of her coming up out of the water with fear in her eyes, kept rewinding over and over in his mind.

The more he thought about her, the more his heart could cheer him up, or make him forget what happened the night before. He wondered where she was now, and if she was okay.

Before he even had a chance to check on her, she left the party with everyone wondering where she had gone to. They tried to chase after her, but, she was faster than any of them expected.

They had tried to find her. But, no one really knew that much about her. Her life was just a big question mark to all of them. Except for one person.

Her best friend. Kevin and Talia had invited Jake to have lunch with them at Silent Garden. Both of them, were still upset at Kayla too, for her cruel stunt she pulled on Kassidy.

As the three of them sat at a booth, Talia and Kevin, talked about nothing but how evil Kayla was. Jake didn't listen to a word neither one of them said. He wanted to forget all about Kayla.

To him, she didn't exist anymore. Instead, he stared out the restaurant window with a hurt heart as once again, the image of Kassidy crying filled his mind. "Jake..." Talia spoke up softy.

The teen turned to face her, who looked at him with concern written on her face. She knew he was worried about Kassidy, and she was too. They all were. "Don't worry Jake, I'm sure she's fine..." She tried her best to at least cheer him up, but it didn't work.

Jake said nothing as he once again turned to face the window, watching as people passed by outside, laughing and talking. Out of nowhere, Bella came up to the trio, in her hands she had three menus and silverware that was wrapped up in napkins.

As she laid them down on the table she spoke in a worried but, riled voice."Kaden told me everything that happened last night..." She began "Have anyone of you seen Kassidy since last night?" All three shook there heads no to her closed her eyes as she sighed, trying her best to control her anger. It took everything Bella had to keep from tracking down where the wicked popular brat was at the moment and beating the snot out of her. Her anger towards Kayla was stronger than ever now...

Once she had calmed down long enough to talk again, Bella told them troubling news. "Kassidy hasn't shown up for work today...she was supposed to be here three hours ago..." Jake's eyes grew wide at hearing Bella's words.

"Wait a minute, Kassidy works here?" Kevin said. None of them knew that the girl was an employee at Silent Garden.

"Yes, And she hasn't even called in sick or anything...I'm worried about her..." Bella put her face in her hands when she finished talking, Kevin and Talia looked at one another with concern.

Something had to be wrong. But, what?"Dawn, someone's here to see you..." The girls mother yelled to the back of the house. Dawn put down the homework she was working on and walked through the hallway into the foyer. She looked at her visitor, Kasie along with Lilly. They had worried looks with a hint of desperation.

"Hi, girls, uh, what are you doing here?" She asked because she really had NO IDEA about why they were standing in her home. "Well, Dawn, you see..." The younger started out, Dawn could sense she wanted to put off telling her something.

"Nobody's heard from Kassidy since last night. Bella told Jake, he texted me, that she didn't show up at work today. Not even a phone call. And, we wanted to know, do you know where she lives?" Kasie had a feeling they shouldn't take their time. "I don't know exactly, but, I can take an educated guess." Dawn said as she ran outside.

The girls shut the door as they followed. "You see," Dawn began to speak up again, "We walked home from school everyday together. So, once she would start walking again, I would look out the window and watch her walk past my house, so, she must live down there." Dawn told them as she pointed the left of her house.

As they made there way to find Kassidy's house, both Kasie and Lilly explained everything that had happened at the pool party. Guilt, came over Dawn, she was the one that convinced her to go to the party in the first place.

Now she had to find her and make sure that she was okay, she didn't know what he would do if something bad happen to Kassidy. She was practically her sister. They made it to the end out the street and looked at all the houses around. There, on the very end, all by itself was the haunted house.

That has to be her house, I know that her dad is a drunk... Dawn thought as she motion for the girls to follow Kasie and Lilly noticed which house it was Dawn was running to, they stopped dead in there tracks. They were shocked at the condition of the house.

"That's where Kassidy lives!" Kasie burst out loudly. When they finally got over there shock, they proceeded to the old house slowly. Dawn was the first one to go up the steps. She walked across the noisy wooden porch. Slowly she reached up to knock on the door.

"Kassidy, it's me Dawn! Please open the door!" Dawn called out. No response. Again Dawn knocked on the door, only this time a little bit harder. Apparently the door wasn't even locked, because when she knocked the second time, the door opened a little.

The girls looked at each other with curiosity. Dawn had already walked to the house, calling for her dear friend. Kasie and Lilly couldn't believe what they saw... There was nothing...only a carpet which had so many stains. Who knows what all was on it."How can someone live like this?" Lilly wondered aloud.

"It's all she had..." Dawn said back to them finally realizing how little she knew of her 'sister.' Tears were welling up in her eyes. How could she have overlooked so many signs? She knew she didn't have the best life, but, this? The house had an eerie feeling to it, it was so quiet.

As Dawn walked around she seen a small white capsule, actually, several white capsules she followed them to a doorway. She didn't know if she wanted to walk into the room.

Yet, she had too... She walked into the room. She kicked something... She saw something white roll across the room. It was an empty pill bottle. She looked over to her left, and what she saw nearly made her heart stop.

There was Kassidy laying in the middle of the stained tan carpet. Why did she wait so long to do something? Why?"KASSIDY!" The girl called out as she ran to her. Kasie and Lilly heard their frantic friends voice and ran to her side. When Lilly seen Kassidy she burst into tears. Dawn knelt down next to the cold, nearly lifeless body.

She looked over to Kasie, "Call 9-1-1..." She said on the verge of tears. She looked at the hand covered in dried blood and glass. She looked at the only piece of furniture she owned.

A now broken mirror. Did she hate herself that much? Dried blood was everywhere... The mirror, the walls, the dress. She took notice of all the repair work she had done on the dress that was coated in blood. Have I never noticed how her clothes almost never fit? Dawn looked at her sister. She cradled her face in her hand. The bruises, the scars, they seemed to scream at her now.

Why didn't you help before it got this far? Why didn't you do something? WHY? "I'm...I'm...so sorry..." She couldn't hold it in any longer. She wasn't as strong as she thought she was... She broke down, as if it was her sister, minutes away from death's door.

The 9-1-1 operator was having a hard time understanding Amy. "What's wrong, sweetie?" The operator asked her, trying to get her to talk instead of sob. "There's been a suicide attempt...at..." Kasie couldn't get it out. She couldn't say it. She...she just couldn't. Lilly was also a mess. She didn't want Kassidy to die. At least not with her life being as bad as it had been. She hoped it wasn't too late...
