Gerald’s POV

“I know you’re there, come in” I was inside the master’s bedroom, my back facing the door while I was wrapping the brown thick belt around my waist just to finish my Peter Pan look.

Tonight is going to be the good night! I am excited to meet my batchmates and introduce Sarah. I am just proud, I guess.

I could feel that my wife was peeking through the open door. If you were to ask if we were sleeping in one room? Uhm… even if I really wanted to, I decided not to.

I could still remember the night of that day we officially confessed our love for each other:

We got home from a long day of enjoying each other’s company --- empty-handed. I didn’t really ask her to buy a dining table, come on, it was just my way to ask her out, my excuse to be with her. Glad I did because something great had happened. Confessing your love to that special person is the most wonderful feeling. Sarah bailed me out of the prison I had been wanted to escape from. I felt relieve.  

For the first time, there were no arguments --- just getting-to-know-interaction.

For the first time, no ice was broken --- the ice melted all by it self.

No hatred --- just pure admiration.

“Hahahahhahahahahahha” both of us were laughing as we entered this big house. My arm was resting around her shoulder.

And for the first time, I felt contented.

Sarah continued laughing. It was loud, it was booming in the whole house. She was already teary from too much happiness. Her eyes closed; her one hand on her stomach.

Slowly, I stopped from laughing. I caught myself just staring at the person who made my life now more colorful. The woman who was now giving me more reason to wake up in the morning and embrace life.

Because of her, I realized the real meaning of the word “complete”.

She gradually opened her eyes when she noticed my laughter faded.

“What’s wrong?” she worriedly asked.

I smiled and answered “Nothing… I am just happy”. I held her hand tightly.

She gave me an are-you-sure-kind of look.

“Yes, babe. You do not know how happy I am today.  Sarah, I've never had a love like this before and I've never felt this way. I don’t want this to come to an end. I wish that time stops this very moment. I want to keep you forever, babe”, I clasped her hands with my two hands as I stared at her sympathetic eyes. “I love you so much, Sarah… I love you so much that it frightens me to lose yo----“

“Ssshhhhh”, she placed her index finger over my lips just to hush me. “I am scared too, Ge. Pero di ba sabi mo kanina, you won’t let it happen. I will do the same. Whatever comes our way, kakayanin nating dalawa. Hangga’t hindi ka susuko, hindi rin ako susuko”.
