Chapter 21
Being left without a choice, Gerald decided to just bum around – no exact place to go and no plan at all! His head: Down. His shoulders: Slumped. His hands: Pocketed.
“Zup dude!” shouted a guy inside the red sports car.
Gerald gazed up, seeing his friends within the subdivision where he currently lived created a how-the-freak-did-you-know-where-I-live-look on his face.
“Tssshh. Granda. We visited her and then we asked her for your address”, Matt who was sitting in the passenger seat casually explained. “Ganda ng bahay ninyo ah! Cool!” he added as he took his sunglasses off while eyeing the big blue house.
“Tara pasok kayo, let us hang out inside”, Gerald invited them enthusiastically. Now he knew he had all the valid reasons on Earth to stay inside their house and watch out for Sarah and Sam. “Let’s go guys!” he insisted, tilting his head forward to see Fred who was behind the wheel.
“Next time na lang pare. As the president of our Student Government, I’d just like to personally inform you that we are having a high school reunion two weeks from now”, Fred stated.
“Huh? When did you guys plan this?”
“Two days ago. Busy ka kasi masyado kaya hindi ka na namin tinawagan”, Matt explained. “Nevertheless, you have to be there pare since you’re the Mr. PBBHS of our school”, he continued while Fred decided to get out of his car then leaned his back against its back door near the passenger side.
“The whole student body will be there. Ofcourse me as the V.P, our President Payawan, our Auditor-Treasurer Mikee Lee, Public Relation Officer Aldred G., Ms. PBBHS Nina Jose..”, wiggling his eyebrows as he took a glance at Fred who was involved with Nina when they were in highschool. “..as expected, our Business Mgmt Officer Kim Chiu”, he carried on while looking at Gerald meaningfully.
“Dude, quit rubbing up on nonsense. It isn’t funny. Nina and I are done too many moons ago. She’s married na nga eh” Fred hissed, arms crossed over his chest.
“Weh?! Good for you! Ewan ko lang dito kay Pareng Gerald, according to a trusted bystander, you were with Kim daw sa isang Chinese Resto..hmmnnn. Alam ba yan ni misis? Naku! Don’t let her catch you in the act!” Matt said, half-giggling.
“Is that true, Ge?” Fred asked, his brows meeting in the middle. He couldn’t believe that his bestfriend was still seeing his ex-girlfriend inspite of his status.
Gerald breathed deeply and blew out an air as he sat down on the curb.
Gerald: Yeah, that is true.
Matt: I knew it!
Fred: Dude, do you even know what you are doing? Kasal ka na pare at may boyfriend na si Kim. Be fair naman sa asawa mo.
Matt: Eh Fred, hindi nga niya mahal yung asawa nya eh. I told you, he still loves Kim. Dapat kasi Ge, hindi mo na lang tinuloy ang kasal mo kay Sarah.
Fred: Are you insane? Huwag mo ngang hawahan ng kagaguhan tong si Gerald. Until now hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala na naging VP ka nung highschool.
