For you, Sugawara Koushi was like a radioactive element.

He was unpredictable. You would never understand him.

You knew that.

You knew it damn well.

And yet, everything he does keeps on making you surprised. Even if you had already expected it.

Which was why it had taken you a while to say a yes when Sugawara asked you to date him, should he win the match.

Oh boy, you kept praying hard, that Karasuno wins.

Not only would the boy have the smile on his face that made you weak, but he would also begin dating you.

But what if Karasuno loses?

No no no, I can't think that way! Think positive! You mentally scold yourself and slap your own face three times.

When your cell phone gives a loud noise, you pick up the phone. It is a text from Sugawara.

You freeze in your spot in the audience. It was half time, and Karasuno had won the set.

"I'm working hard. I'm working really hard so that I can date you. I hope you're ready."

You take a look at where the boy is sitting on the bench. He is holding his cellphone in his hand and waves when he notices you. He then runs back to join his team.

Damn, you had missed the fact that his face was red.

But it was obvious that yours was even redder, now.

Feeling flustered, but blissful at the same time, you poke the new manager, Yachi.

"Yachi, do you know if Suga-san is playing in this set as well?"

"Yeah, he is. He requested to play the full set, and he's working well with the others."

Did he request to play the full set?

So that's why he said he was working hard!

You could feel your heart race as you watch the silver-gray haired boy toss the ball to the tall blond boy.

Minutes passed by, and Karasuno takes the second set as well.

"YES!" You scream as loud as you can. You could barely hold how excited you were.

And Sugawara-

To your surprise, an excited Sugawara runs up to the audience, and he has his arms held out towards you.

Ehhhhhhh?

It takes you by a shock, but you find yourself running up to him with the same enthusiasm.

Right before you both are in an embrace, Sugawara stops running.

"U-Um. I'm sorry, I was just so excited!" He says, scratching the nape of his neck. His face had thin red streaks on them, but he wasn't trying to hide it.

"I-I did it." He says.

"You did. You did a great job, Suga-san!"

"So..." The boy begins, looking into your eyes.

"So..." You say back.

His eyes were something that never bore you. There were hundreds of other people you knew, who had hazel-brown eyes, but Sugawara's eyes...

You take a deep breath and hold out your pinky. Sugawara lets out an exhale in reply.

"As promised... Will you be my girlfriend, [Name]-san?"

Even though you had been expecting it, it sounded so much like a dream, something that you had dreamed and wished for the past three years...

"Yes." You reply, and the boy beams and entwines his pinky with yours.

"I really, really like you, [Name]-san. I'm so happy right now." The boy says, and then runs off to join his friends.

Oh lord, Sugawara was now your boyfriend.

Boyfriend.
