The Little Green Dot: A Poem

I sit here at my desk,

Body convulsing, eyes shedding thousands upon thousands of salty tasting tears.

My hands shake,

So hard that I can barely hold the mouse at rest.

We used to be so close, you and I,

Two peas in a pod, they used to say.

But now, it feels like you were never there,

You can't even look me in the eye,

Any more...

It went from us being able to talk hours upon hours,

Never wanting a rest.

But now, there's an empty feeling,

Deep within my breast.

People never tell you that the emptiness weighs the most.

Especially when I see that little green dot,

Light up next to your name.

And I see all the things about

Your new friends that you boast.

Hours turned to minutes,

Minutes turned to seconds.

Support turned to harsh words.

And love turned to sorrow.

I'm sorry that I couldn't be better,

I just want you to know how much,

You meant to me.

By writing you this dear little letter.
