I am trapped,
But I am free,
I am caught,
But I'm still me.
I am captured,
But free to go,
I am wounded,
But suffered no blow.
Truth be told,
You are my chain,
Unintentionally,
My fiercest bane.
I wish I didn't,
Love you so,
Because then I could
Just let you go.
You're in a cage,
Which binds me more,
Than if I was in jail,
Tied to the floor.
You're in danger,
Which worries me worse,
Than if I was alone,
And stuck with a curse.
You will be hurt,
If I do what is right,
But what is wrong,
When I can't see the light?
I know it is wrong,
But it's for a good cause,
Yet each decision,
It makes me pause.
You are in danger,
Which holds me fast,
It's my first binding,
And will be my last.
Only their assurance,
That you'll be 'okay',
Makes me lie,
Makes me betray.
Horrid missions,
They make me do,
But it's alright,
As long as I have you.
Someday it will stop,
Someday I will be true,
But that is the day,
When I stop loving you.
I was just thinking in my mind about two lovers, one caught and tortured as ransom for the other one's cooperation. :( I know, depressing. But I think those thoughts sometimes. Hopefully, there will be a happy poem somewhere soon. :)
Here's to free hearts.
