Little boy blue,
Didn't know what to do,
When the moon smiled and waved.
The smile was true,
And he thought, 'I never knew,
That the moon could smile and wave!'
Little girl pink,
Lost her ring down the sink,
And mourned 'I wish for my diamond ring!'
And Little Boy Blue,
He knew just what to do,
And brought back her diamond ring.
Little girl beamed,
She glowed and she gleamed,
Said, 'Thanks for bringing it back--
It was my gramma's, you see,
She gave it to me,
So thanks for bringing it back'.
In her pure joy,
She thanked the boy,
Then gave him a thankful kiss.
Little Boy flushed,
And Little Girl blushed,
For that kiss wasn't hard to miss.
Little boy blue,
Grew up to be you,
And I am the little girl pink.
For we fell in love,
Not by day nor by dove,
But when you rescued my ring from the sink.
