Prologue: The Duck and the Black Swan
If you were to tell me a story about the Raven and the Swan,
I'd simply have to tell you,
You know it all wrong.
What happy ending is there for a beast?
The innocent heart should find love at the least?
What battle they had, do you say?
They found themselves a princess!
A glorious day!
A black feathered lover!
A Prince all in white!
A promise of love, with all of their might,
Together at last, after the Fight!
But a little small Swan,
With a Quack and a Cluck,
Had given it all, and had little Luck,
But when a Knight in Armor,
Sees a Lady in pain,
The Crow and the Swan's Story,
Is not yet slain.
Drosselmeyer had returned in his chair.
A small little doll beside him and stared.
For leaving the story alone, was a promise he could not bare,
What more was there to add ?
What more could be prepared?
And yet the Knight wondered,
As he wrote words in his book,
And if they'd ever take life,
Like his old ones once took,
Two Years had passed,
